We have two children attend this campus and both are struggling academically. My husband and I are very proactive and involved in our children's learning and sought help outside the school. Our youngest daughter attends 1st grade. The teacher denied having any concerns even though it's clear through work samples, reading, writing and more there is a problem. We ask the school in writing to do testing on our daughter and was told no. We requested to see any school data collected, benchmark testing and was told no. After several meetings with the school asking for help we were told by the campus administrator to find a new school and if we try to go to anyone else (superintendent) that he will not listen and send us to someone else. All of this is bad behavior...bad behavior at the campus, bad behavior from a school admin and bad behavior from a superintendent allowing this behavior at any one campus here in Midlothian to be allowed. Parents--do your homework as the advocate for your child's needs and report any bad behavior above and beyond the campus. LaRue Miller Elementary needs TEA monitoring in a bad way.

I love this school and everyone and everything about it. The staff is the best I have ever seen. I came from a much larger school district and work with another ISD and can truly say there is no other school and no other district for that matter, I would rather see my child at. Thanks Midlothian for caring so much for your children.

The principal at Miller is great! She wants nothing but the best for our kids! I have a 3rd grader and have never had a bad experience at Miller. Love all the teachers that have been in my childs life.

The faculty at this school are like no other we have seen in the past 3 states we have lived in. They make you feel welcome, they truly care about your kids, and it shows a huge difference in the learning environment. Their interactions with the kids and families is very encouraging and supportive. LOVE, LOVE this school.

LaRue Miller Elementary's excellent 'green' facility and quality staff understand that the educating/mentoring the 'total' child makes for successful students - and adults. The nurturing atmosphere and sensitivity of the staff identify stumbling blocks that might de-rail these young children, and present alternatives to the students - and their parents in time to set them on track for the upper grades. Their sensitivity to being environmentally responsible teaches by example, and encourages the children to follow-through at home with eco-friendly habits.

I have a child in the fifth grade at LaRue Miller. We feel that the school is doing a fabulous job especially since all of the students and the staff are new to one another. It is a great mix of people hand picked from the districts best.

My son attends first grade at LaRue Miller Elementary. Nice new school but needs to work very hard on organization and tactful response to concerned parents. In all honest Mt. Peak has a much better repore that Miller.
