I can't say what has happenned over the years or if Milano school is above or below where they should be but what I can say is I went from 1st grade off and on through Fourth grade and I loved it, going to that school was one of my few happy memories as a child, The Teachers were kind and the friends I made there I still keep in my Prayers today. We use to either walk or take a hayride up to the high school , Our Teacher would drink milk with us at play time and draw pictures in the dirt.. pep rallies and high school kids who would take the time to say hi and ask how you were doing, Milano is a older and yes maybe behind the times town but it has heart and good people and if I was able to raise my children where I wanted and send them to school in any place in the world I would go back to basic and true and family based and that my Dear. Friends is Milano and Milano Schools, Be Blessed
While in the past there have been problems with the Milano ISD and it is not perfect yet, the problems of the past have been addressed and are being corrected. We now have a new and outstanding set of leaders, administrators, teachers, and coaches in the school who are making positive improvements to the school. Be it extracurricular, social, or academic; this school district is moving forward and making the necessary advances to create the sort of school and community atmosphere people strive to bring their children to.
Joke school. Athletes that were born and raised in Milano and the focus. Academics lack greatly. My high school daughter asked to transfer to another school because she feels unprepared for SATs and college. Discipline is lacking. Teaching is lacking in most departments. There are a few great teachers there, but most are more interested in a paycheck and a place to sit down. Overall, I feel that this school does little to prepare students for post high school education.
