Mount Calm Elementary School

Mt.Calm is awsome!!!!!! This school is friendly,welcoming and head strong. The teachers and all the staff are just warm and plesant to be around. My children will never go to another school. If for some reason they are not allowed to go to this school anymore they will be home schooled.

To have such small numbers of students for each class, teachers should be able to work more with the students and monitor their progress more efficiently. Mt. Calm ISD fails in this area terribly. One of my children had a learning disability, was unable to read, write or comprehend, but she was given straight A's. When the educators were asked how this was possible. I, or my child was punished on the next report card by failing each subject. When the educators were asked how they were going to help my child progress and learn. My child received all A's on the next report card.

My children and grandchildren have attented this school for many years. The teachers have been kind and compassionate. Because we are a small school, they understand the problems the children face in the homes and communities. Many parents are involved and participate in activities with the children. They work with the children individually to make sure they understand and excel in their subjects.
