This is my daughter's first year at McMichael. She has adjusted well and speaks highly of all of her teachers. To come from a private school into public school - I am very pleased with her ease of transition into this school.
It is hard to rate this school because there has been a different principal every year for each of the school's three years in existence. Consistency of leadership would be a welcome change. Most of the teachers are very good. Girls athletic program last year was awesome; this year, not so much. Band program is adequate. Some of the student groups have excellent leadership; some groups are floundering. I would agree with the '5' out of '10' rating the school currently holds. Parent involvement is probably similar to many schools - a small group of parents are extremely involved and get most of the support work accomplished. Most parents are AWOL at school.
