I have a 4th grader and a 2nd grader that have been at this school since Kindergarten. Our experience has been excellent. The kids are excelling and really like going to school. The teachers are top notch professionals and there is a zero-tolerance policy with bullying. You can't go wrong with this school.
I've had a horrific experience with a truly unqualified staff regarding my son who has autism. It's been an uphill battle all the way. I'm very dissatisfied, but have tried to work with them and educate them to the best of my ability. I don't feel that it's been worth it - my child is the one who suffers in the end - due to the staff's incompetence.
County line elementary is awesome, and the staff is great. My son is enrolled in their ppcd program, for children with disablilities. His teacher mrs. Stafford is just amazing, and his therapists there always keep me up to date on all his progress and daily routines...I just love this school so much!
My son is currently enrolled in the pre-k program. He loves him teacher (McPherson and Maxson). He is super hyper and both teacher take the time to make sure that he is on track. He is learning alot and have never heard from him that he does not want to go to school. I also like the fact that they have a special reward system for reading. My son now wants to read all the time. All parents are hands on with the school. Also love the school activites, carnival, help with announcments and the class parties. McPherson makes sure that all parents are able to participate. I love this school and I know it is going to be hard for my son to get a new teacher next year. He even wants to be a teacher when he grows up.
My son is currently enrolled in Kindergarten at MP. I find that all the teachers & staff are very helpful & understanding. They understand that starting school is an adjustment for many kids and take the time to get them to understand what is needed of them. They do not just teach the children academics, but also focus on social skills and creating a positive learning environment.
My sin has being going to Memorial since he was in PK and know he is in 1st and he loves his school. I do to it is a great school. Very one is very friendly and the staff knows each and every child! I like that they allow and want you to be there!
Memorial Primary is okay so far. In the beginning there were issues, but they were resolved in a timely manner. So far, my daughter hasn't come home complaining of anything negative going on. The programs offered at Memorial Primary( science, reading, arithmetic, etc.) seem ideal for children in the age group attending the school. I notice parents are very much involved in the well-being of the students there, which is definitely a plus. Music, arts, sports, I haven't had much information on the status of it, but I'm quite sure given the reputation the school has, the activities meet satisfactory standards. Overall, I'd say Memorial would be an ideal place for a child to attend school. Of course my recommendation is to not only take the advice of blogs on websites, but to also do your homework: go to the school's website, ask around.
I found that my son had an exceptional teacher, Mrs. Duckworth, and my daughter had an ok teacher while they were there. My son was challanged while my daughter was going through the motions. I feel like you have a 50/50 chance of a quality education here. The next year I could see that my son's teachers were mediocre. I pulled them out and put them in private school! I thought art and music were ok but not much individual attention. The level of parent involvement was good for public school. I think this school is finding it diffucult to keep up with the growth of the area.
Before my first child started school I had heard tons of horror stories about the public school system. Our experience at Memorial Primary has laid my worries to rest. I have zero complaints and only the nicest things to say. I can only hope that all staff and campuses my children encounter during their public school education will be as wonderful as they are at Memorial Primary.
My son is in Kindergarten at Memorial - its a wonderful school. The teachers are dedicated and the principal seems to be a wonderful leader. I'd recommend this school to anyone.
