HSA Odessa has been a great school for my daughter. The school's small environment provides a good learning environment without worries of bullying. The teachers all seem very dedicated and enthusiastic about teaching and offer lots of support to their students. It is true that students have more homework than some other schools and there are rules to follow, but I personally think these are good things.

My granddaughter was finally accepted into Harmony this year and it has proven to be a blessing. I never realized how ostracized she was while attending Murry Fly but when we received the news that she had a place in Harmony she screamed for joy. She has a math teacher who offers tutoring at his and his wife's home on Saturdays if necessary, and will come to our home if we prefer. The majority of the students at the Harmony are happy and polite children; a far cry from what I have encountered in public schools. And yes, they do weed out the slackers and trouble makers which is better for all students. Two complaints I heard from ex-Harmony parents are: they have too much homework and the teachers want to "butt in" to family business. Oh yes, and some kids dislike the homework and lack of recess. Yes, some teachers do want to come to homes where welcome but only to see how the student/students live and learn new things of our culture. These parents failed to prove their points nonetheless and came off as losers in my opinion. I can't wait to see how my granddaughter continues to grow as she has so far. She already has her first best friend and is never bullied as before.

I am a student at Harmony Science Academy-Odessa and I hate this school! The teachers there can care less if the kids get a valuable learning experience. Most of the other students act immaturely and WAY below their grade level, which I can understand because, the teachers don't show any proper form of discipline. If you want your kids to have a good charter school experience DO NOT send them here.
