Blanton is one of the best elementary schools in Odessa. The staff is wonderful...from the office to the classroom. The principal is wonderful as well. This year was my son's first year in public school (in 4th grade) and his teacher is absolutely amazing and he could not be happier. Nothing but praise for this campus!

New for this year, Principle Voss has a terrific track record from her years as Vice Principle at Milam Elementary. She brings to Blanton a level of accessibility and involvement that seems far beyond the norm. She can, for example, be seen outside each morning helping kids get out of their parents' cars and into the building. She makes rounds through the Kindergarten classes to read stories to the children. She reads and responds to emails. She holds students and teachers alike accountable for being on-time.

Awful office staff and administration. No help for kids with special needs. 'No child left behind' means nothing at this school. Keep your kids out of this school if you want a positive outcome for them and a welcoming attitude toward you by staff.

My daughters started this school year without any knowledge of English language. At Blanton they got the support to develop and they learned amazingly much. They had a great year!

I have a LD son in the third grade. The school is not up to date on how to deal with children with these type problems, just easier to pass them on. A typical problem with 'no child left behind.' Blanton has a few excellent teachers, most I would consider average.
