My daughter fell completely behind here. She was originally a GT student, and somehow fell through the cracks. We tried and tried to have communication with the teachers and staff when we believed, with suggestion from our pediatrician, that she may be ADD. They were no help. AT ALL. We were treated as if we were trying to "get one over on them" meaning we wanted to somehow sway her testing on the TAKS test. I too had major back surgery the first year my daughter was at Justiss,(her third grade year) and the teachers were fabulous. But, her fourth grade year the teachers had no interest in teaching her basic things like handwriting, vocabulary and dictionary use. We switched school districts because of our fourth grade experience with Justiss. I am very sad on many levels, my daughters poor education experience, and the fact that I was a student at Justiss in the 80's. I loved this school and no longer have good things to say about this school.

My son Russell Helsel went to this school for 2 1/2 yrs, until he was diagnosised with bone cancer in Jan. 05. All of the teachers and students have been wonderful. The overall structure of the school system is great as well. I don't think my son has like any other school or his teachers better than the ones there in Paris. I really appreciate all of the support that they have given our family.

I think it's a wonderful school. WHen I was down for surgery or when I hurt my back my childrens teachers stepped forward and came to pick up my children so they wouldn't miss school. I was very thankful for that...since I couldn't drive. They also called me before school started to introduce themselves and even give me their home number in case I ever needed to reach them for anything or any concerns. I've never experienced this with any other teachers that my children have had. My children even say to this day that their most favorite school was Justiss Elementary. And they haven't gone to school there in a year and a half! We are making every effort right now to save up and move back to Paris. One reason being so the kids can be back in that school! Are all Paris teachers like this? I hope so.
