Sparks is a great school, The administration is tops in their field. They care about the students. Most of the teachers have been there a long time providing consistance and continuity for the children and their families. The teachers manage their classrooms well, which is needed due to the open concept grade level pods. Their is an over emphasis on TAKS preparation but that is probably state wide. Their TAKS scores are good but they work with the children that need extra help on Saturdays, before school and after school. I am impressed with their counselor, community in schools staff and their nurse, they are very connected to the students and families and work with families above and beyond what most school's support staff does. I have been very happy with the school, initally the obsession with TAKS concerned me, however some children need extra help and they go the extra mile.
