They have a great teacher in preK 3, Mrs. M. My child came out of there knowing her ABC'S, her shapes, colors, numbers 1-20 in both English and Spanish. Teacher very loving and caring (the Aid too). A lot of parent/teacher communication. Each teacher have an updated web page with everything that's going on or coming up in school and church. I would HIGHLY recommend this school.
We pulled our children out too. The academics have fallen & what should have been covered in school is sent home as homework. We were doing homework for 3 hours every night! One of the books that was said to be new was a book I remember from 10 years ago.
I woulnd't ever send my grandchild here again.. This school is very unorganized and only care about money. We attepmted several time to talk to the prinicipal she never would see us. The day we took our grandchild out was the day we saw her and didn't say nothing to us.. I tell you as a grandmother this is a horrible school and I regret sending my grand baby thier. So please new parents if your considering sending your child here just skip this school.
To the parent of 10 years who feels the negative reviews are dishonest - I believe they are honest. In our 10+ years of experience, the academics have fallen & the students are not prepared for private or public high school, especially in writing and math. I believe St. Pius V caters to the below average students.
I find several reviews to be dishonest. As a parent for 10 years, I find the school to be moving forward in academics, technology and so much more. The school did not lose any staff last year except for downsizing due to economy. If the morale is so low, as stated by a parent why has all the staff stayed without a pay raise. The teachers do believe its a ministry and are willing to sacrifice for the children. Not all teachers are certified. And the school does follow the TCCED regulations and policies and is accredited. This year the school updated the curriculum with new math series, new spelling connectrions, new english series and finally new novel series. As in all orgtanizations, the principal is the one that makes the final decision in regards to HSA. I was oon the board and found the principal to be a good leader.Parent
This school has turned into the worst educational situation imaginable. Their academics are sliding. Comments, or Complaints are not welcome. We removed our children after 4 years. They are more conderned with fund raising than education. The principal, along with about half the staff need to be replaced.
The math and english courses are very basic. They are not required to have certified teachers. The area public schools are functioning at a higher level. The principal has full control of and makes all final decisions for the Home and School Association. Teacher morale is low and turnover is high. Parencompalin
The academic portion of the school has been greatly improved over the last three years. This along with a changing cultural environment, change in attitudes of staff members, has brought this school to another level. The principal, although dogmatic, has raise the standards and educational expectations.
Student-Teacher ratio is great. This is a small private school so parent involvement is almost a necessity. I believe this is what makes the school feel as if we are a big family. The educational quality of the school is very satisfactory. Extracurricular activities are limited to music and some sports. Overall I feel the school is satisfactory.
