My son is in 7th grade at PJHE, and I have been really pleased with his experience there. His teachers have been very responsive and willing to work with me to help my son do his best and even enjoy it. Principal Henry is super-nice and very accommodating.
My experience with the some of the staff thus far has been disappointing. I completely agree with the previous posting that stated If your kid is having a problem do not expect any help . My son is a 7th grader at PJHE. Last year he was an AB student (all advanced classes) with an occasional C as a result of struggling with ADD. He is now failing. I recently had a Parent/Teacher conference to discuss my son s poor performance in 4 out of 7 of is classes and his rapidly declining attitude toward these certain classes. I have four boys, 3 in school. I have never experienced a group of teachers with such disinterest in my child s success as I experienced in that conference. They apparently have a zero Tolerance toward students with learning deficiencies.
This is our first year at PJH East. We were rezoned from West to East and so far it's been great! The principal is wonderful and very easy to talk to and Parent involvement is highly encouraged. Our PTA is very active. My children love their teachers and the staff.
This school is the best school ever. I'm a former student that went there last year, but got rezoned to a different school. This school is by far the most exciting school. The teachers weren't as strict, we actually had fun. I really miss this school, and this school is the best school in the district. I will always be a ROUGHNECK.
Pearland JH East is great and so is the Football team... My son went to West last year and brought home F's this year he is making A & B's so far.. He loves the teachers and peers.
I attended PJHE last year, and it was probably the best years of my life. I must say though, the school is probably the worst in Pearland. We had so many things go wrong....from the gas leak, to the many fights every week.... Parents, if your child is just looking for a good time, this is the perfect school....otherwise, it's not even a good possibility.
East is the average school, sure they get into some fights, but don't all schools have fights anyways ? A lot of the teachers are pretty nice, but they seem to misunderstand the kids a whole lot. Also the dress code is horrid..some days they would let the kids get away with any untucked, no-belt, and different color pants. But sometimes it randomly changes where it's ISS every day. In truth I dislike this school, because of how the students and some teachers behave, but I do believe that it is just average school.
If your kid is having a problem do not expect any help. Zero tolerance is their policy on just about anything and everything. Make sure you read every single dress code rule and make their handbook your new bible. Teachers can have cell phones and dress in skimpy short clothing, but God forbid if your childs shirt comes untucked or you can not find a belt.
The school is horrible. I hate it! the staff is so mean. All teachers have a bad attitude. I should know. Kids get into fights every day there. I just got taken out a week ago and I'm glad. Now i'm going to junior high south. The best school in pearland. I've been going here for 2 weeks and I've loved it. The principal is so cool and our football team is the best.
