Its half half. My brother and sister say it can be good but sometimes it can be bad. So its a good school but it has a bit of drama.

I have been going to harmony for 3 years now and I have mixed reviews for it. There is a general lack of funding and provision of Electives. There are some great teachers though but there are also some very bad ones. Some of the teachers at these schools in general lack the understanding of the English language to varying degrees the worse of which makes it very hard to understand what they are saying. Discipline is very strict with some teachers and most administrators. I have had the personal experience of being singled out for discipline on many occasions to the point where the teacher found a handful of students that he or she would generally discipline through DPS and being removed from class. This typically happens with the Turkish teachers who have haphazard to irrational discipline tendencies. Combined with there poor English this turns into quite a problem and is the source of most of my discontent. Some of these teachers are great but some of them are very bad, to the point of being unable teach.

Overall i don't think this school is so exemplary as they say. I bet theres public schools that are better. Infact, my child goes to Pflugerville High School and he is getting all a's. At hsana yea we teach our kids a lot but what we need is more of the extra curricular activites like of public schools so that it will help them enroll for college. That is what i believe.

One day i was popping some corn, and some people came in and said, "yo give me some corn". I politely said no, and they said "DPS for not following reasonable request."

This is an awesome school! Sure the uniform can get kind of annoying but who cares! The teachers care a lot, and Mr. Caglar is a wonderful principal. The school just got renovated and is beautiful!! So far, I would say this is the best harmony in Austin...

I have 2 children at HSANA in their 2nd year there. My oldest needs support from special ed with an IEP. They have been wonderful with him and very accomodating. He is now in all AP classes! My younger child had trouble learning to read in public schools. They could not help him and we paid for expensive tutoring because he was a full grade behind. At HSANA he is thriving and now loving to read, making all A's and B's. Both of my boys are interested more in science and math. Their public school focuses all on language arts. I like that this school is an opportunity for growth and development in these areas. I only wish they continue to accept younger students so my youngest can go there too!

I have been very disappointed with this school. They claim that this is an open enrollment school. However, when you go to register your child they ask for your last report card, taks scores and interview the child. Without which they will not put your child's name on the lottery. They say that they have a special ed teacher but they do not like working with children on special ed if at all possible. This is more of a school for the talented and gifted and independent children. It seems to me that they pick and choose the students that they want on the lottery and this is how they become exemplary. This school does not cater to children at all levels.

I am very discouraged with my decision to allow my child into this school for even a year. I am absolutely amazed that there is no one out there willing to admit that this school caters to a particular group of children and if you do not fall into this category then your child is singled out particularly where discipline is concerned! I didn t want to see or believe that this was going on. I spoke with a number of my child's classmates who confirmed that this was going on. The school really needs to look into who is constantly receiving DPS and being asked to leave the class cause I can tell you it is not the Turkish or Muslim students. Very Dispappointing that we still do this to one another!!

My son is extremely happy to be at Harmony Science Academy North Austin. He said the teachers here are nice and want you to do good which he did not feel at the Manor ISD. I am glad to have a private school atmosphere tuition free. A fellow friend had the same reading assignment during the summer. My son took the test and his friend did not (in Manor Middle school). The reason Manor didn't is because too many kids didn't read it. I am glad that HSANA did give the test to show to the students that they will be held accountable. Already I see the difference of which school cares if they read their book or not. HSANA does not tolerate distractions in class which makes a better learning environment. However, if the student is having a problem, they take the time to find out why.
