Too much competition, lame rules, good teachers.

The staff at this school need to find better ways to enforce the dress code. We just moved to Texas and experienced death in our family. My daughter was dress coded today and forced to wear humiliating red pants all day. This is the first week of school and we are still getting acclimated to the state as well as the school culture. I think it is very harsh and insensitive for the school to force children to wear those pants. I respect their standards when it comes to dress codes, but isn't it harsh to force a child who has just moved from a different state and is going through a rough season of life to wear humiliating red pants? A least send home a warning note to parents. That was a very tramatic experience for my child. The adults who created this policy are bullies who use fear and humiliation to enforce policies. How can you promote anti-bullying when your school discipline policy thrives off of fear and humiliation. This is not a safe culture for children.

This school has wonderful academic, athletic, and fine arts programs, but yet has many flaws. I will not lie, this is the best school in the DFW area for academics. Unfortunately, the athletics coordinators are rude and biased towards students. They are certainly not forgiving, and some are very biased towards the students. The social situation at Fowler is a complete mess. The school prides itself upon being diverse and against bullying, but racist stereotypes are everywhere. The students are separated by socially by their race, and although i don't know the cause, there are students that are complete elitists, despite their character. White students are more popularly seen by their teachers, leading to their undeserving academic excellence. And as for bullying, the staff does not act upon serious bully reports. I have witnessed a situation(s) in which a student will use the "handy" online bully report website, and although the guilty will get called to the principal's office, there are no consequences. Repeat offenders will most likely be let off with a warning and nothing else. Additionally, the administrators have enforced a sexist dress code placed upon by the district, and the punishment for females who have been discovered to violate the dress code is to shame them by making them wear bright red pants for the rest of the school day. Their original clothes shall be returned to them at 3:35, which is when school ends. The school and district have made multiple claims that the dress code rules also apply to males, but upon observing the student handbook addendum, one can see that most restrictions are placed upon the girls. In conclusion, this is a wonderful academic school with more than a couple of skeletons in their closet.

Honesty, Integrity and Fairness are very important values but I really don't know if Fowler makes a special effort to develop these values. The focus is on the academics.

This is my son's first year at Fowler. The quality of education at Fowler has truly impressed us so far! It has exceeded our expectations, which are quite high! This is like a private school, only better! They have the best teachers and the best programs like the orchestra, the band, and the Math and Science Team.

Coming toward the end of three years at Fowler I couldn't have hoped or expected a better , educational experience or environment for my son. Our experience at FMS along with FISD has exceeded every expectation and raised the bar on what can be accomplished in public schools. I applaud the staff at FMS and wish to thank them for their exemplary service !

The principals only care about money, status, and wealthy/influential parents' kids. If you're not rich, they will let the teachers and everyone else trample your child's dignity and self-esteem. Disgraceful.
