I'm a Christie parent and involved with the PTA. I also volunteer at the school and I haven't seen any behavioral problems that aren't common to any elementary school. I do think the school is crowded and has a larger than average (for Plano) share of students with limited English or economically challenged backgrounds which strains academics and has caused the average test results to drop over the past couple of years. The gifted and talented program is practically non-existent - that's my biggest complaint. The PTA is one of the most involved I've worked with with lots of programs for the kids and parents.

This is not a great school by any means. We actually moved our kids from this campus to another when we could get nowhere with the principal there. It seems to me that the kids are the ones running this school, not the principal! There is a definate lack of dicipline at Christie and I think that the kids know that they can do bad things and get away with it without getting in trouble. Maybe with a stronger/ firmer leadership team this school could be much better for the kids, but we didn't have time to wait for that to happen. FYI. The new school is further, but we are very happy with our decision to move our kids from Christie.

We are new to this school this year and it is leaps and bounds beyond our expectations. This campus has had a rough time, but with the principal in her second year here, there is stable leadership, the teachers are happy to be at school. My kids are learning so much and look forward to each school day. All students are treated with respect and dignity. Parents are welcomed into the building.

This school has excellent teachers, great staff and great administrators who all work together with the PTA to make the school great for all kids. After 5 years of being academically acceptable, this school is a recognized school this year. Great job Christie!

I agree that this school is bad! I switched schools after one year and couldn't be happier that I did. There are some really good teachers there who unfortunately are stuck at a bad school, with a poor leader (principal) and kids with behavioral issues. Change schools-you'll be glad you did!

My child attends this school and has learned a lot this year. I am pleased with his achievements. I think the teachers are doing a good job but I am concerned about discipline. The staff tries very hard to discipline and send a chart home daily so parents know if their child caused any problems. I do believe there are many well behaved children there. It is up to parents to follow up and work with the teachers on discipline. I see the teachers daily speaking briefly with parents in the pickup lines. The think the discipline problems stem from home life. We have decided to change to another school in Plano.

The entire vibe at the school is very negative. It's rare to find a faculty member that doesn't have a scowl on their face. The front office is inexcusable rude and downright hostile, to the point where they don't even acknowledge your presence, if you're unfortunate enough to have to walk in there. Every other parent I've talked to says the same. I truly believe this bad behavior has affected the rest of the faculty. I have to go up there today and I am dreading the hostile third degree I'm going to be confronted with when I walk in. It's so bad that I am hoping to transfer my son to another school in the district.

The principal highly promotes academic and education for this school. My child has learned so much this year and it is only half way throught the school year. The teachers are great, and I know that over the next 8 years we will enjoy it just as much. I want to thank everyone at Christe for all they do for our kids.

This school has tons of behaviorial issues. Too many bad kids and not enough emphasis on academics. Both my kids are advanced and their learning has been compromised because of other issues. Security issues as well-Not a good school if you care about your childs well being and learning;some good teachers, but they are limited to dealing with all issues.
