I have a hard time understanding the correlation between the schools great academic achievments and it's present leadership. Everything is politically and monetarily driven, with very high pressure parent gangs running much of the show, with Watkins approval of course. Dealt with him personally on two issues, and he failed miserably twice. Other than that, it is a great school.
After being a (formerly)active community member of Prosper for many years, I can honestly say that these reports aren't shocking.I've witnessed and heard reports of student &principal bullying that has campus teachers "afraid" to speak out. Consider: 1. Leadership by a principal with no previous experience who leads by intimidation. If you've ever been on site, the environment lacks teacher smiles and is dreary at best. I had children who attended there (thank God for a job transfer) and have been witness to the absence of a thriving, climate other PISD campus' embody. 2. New hiree's are all MISD former employees brought in by the Asst .Sup who also lack any experience in principal experience. 3. The district pays to train its teachers in "Customer Care" which is really a class on how to conceed accountability to its wealthy parents demands. 4. Bullying , at least from numerous sources, is not addressed per policy as those accused are children of the very parents whose money talks. 5. Children are being withdrawn from school and word is an expos addressing these issues has been squashed by district officials Unless you are rich, think twice before joining this entitled district.
Very weak leadership by the principle. and assistant principle. They are far more concerned with staying in the popular crowd than discipline the bully's. The aggression has been ignored all year and now it is out of control. physical girl fights in the hall. Boys threatening to hit each other with chairs in the cafeteria. the harassment, making fun of others, and exclusion is ramped. The Principle is a bully herself and she will not give her teachers any authority. the principle is cold and unapproachable and the assistant wants to be your buddy and all the kids make fun of him. If you have the right last name you are basically untouchable, and those kids know it and brag about it. the teachers are great the coaches seem really tired all the time and just don't really care. its a really sad we thought coming here would be really great but found out only certain people get special treatment and its not even the best athletes. the best athletes have left the school because the were harassed so much. I wish I could leave but there is no other school in the district to go to. I am really sad that it is getting worse.
I have never seen such a high Bully problem! The leadership is non existent and this school is run by parents and politics. The Principle does not support her teachers. Little to no investigations are made on bullying complaints and bullies are not held accountable for their actions. My child was harassed to the point he lost all ambition to go to school or play sports. This administration likes to sweep things under the rug and hope you go away. We were forced to take our son out of school for his own health and safety. I find it strange that after we pulled our son out of school the Superintendent and Principle started informing their teachers and students of psychological bullying.I am saddened and disgusted by the way this school district chooses to run their schools. They will loose or hurt so many great kids because their parent's choose not to play the political games. If you want to come to a town where High school never ends Prosper is the place. There are lots of mom's and Dad's here running for prom queen and king and I pray that they wake up before someone chooses to take their own life or there is another Columbine! just like the high school comments buyer beware!
