I absolutely love D.C. Cannon Elementary! The teachers, staff, and principal are all very nice and caring towards the students! My daughter works hard in everything, and is always going on and on about how great it is. The teacher teaches everything to the point, not just what they need to know for the State Tests!! The kids are nice as well!!

I have been very pleased with this school, teachers and principle. I love the reward systems for the students who strive to achieve their best. I have met helpful and nice parents too. I am looking forward to next year. My child loves his school too especially P.E. , teacher, principle, computer lab, math and reading AR program.

The principal is horrible. He doesnt get involved with the kids, he doesnt address problems between kids or teachers. He is the worst prinicpal I have ever seen at this school!

Though 'academic communism' may be somewhat pervasive throughout the state, I sensed with my child there, that the teachers were not interested in helping students reach their potential so much as keep parents 'happy' and maintain their paycheck. My son was 'given' A's in his work without any accountability. I ultimately pulled him out after 3rd grade and had to remedialize him on all his math multiplication facts. He had received high marks on his grades, yet failed 3 concepts in the TAKS test, Mathematics section. Definitely something wrong with this picture. On the positive side, the teacher was very kind, and the PTO seems very energetic.

There are a large number of teachers at D.C. Cannon that are very good and caring. The scores on the TAKS tests have gone up in the year 2003/2004. Over all I have been pleased with the experiance my child has had there.
