They really try to promote students completing work in class. Homework is minimal and reasonable. No work is sent home on Wednesday nights or if school events are scheduled on weeknights (PTF meetings, school performances, etc.).
There is a strong emphasis on integrating Christian values throughout the curriculum and applying it in each subject, not just lip service in a religion course. It is modeled by teachers, staff, and students in everyday life.
OCS is an excellent school. One of my sons has attended school at OCS since he was in K4. He loves it and we love it. Great teachers and staff, wonderful education. My younger son was attending a charter school and it was a nightmare, he was moved to OCS and is doing great! I would recommend OCS to anyone wanting an excellent education from an excellent school. It has also made my college age son's an easy transition into the college curriculum.
The school has been so supportive and has went above and beyond their duties. The school has a family environment and makes everyone feels special. An amazing place and anytime you interact with the teachers it is the highest of professionalism as possible.
