This is our second year in this school district and campus and I must say AMAZING!!!!!!! My oldest son attends this school (7 grader) the teachers here are excellent and helpful. My son is dyslexic and I must say I am satisfied. The staff does show there concerns on assisting his needs. When my son comes home and tells me how much he enjoys going to school makes me proud as a parent, that he actually looks forward to attending school everyday. Keep up the good work staff!!!

I have subbed here, and though the staff is wonderful and so helpful, the admin is not. Most of the students are wonderful. But then there are some students that just don't want to follow the rules and they are not given consequences for their actions. A student came up to me and told me that she may be getting suspended because she was being disrespectful to her OWN teacher "because it's funny. The 6th grade AP is of no help. The students act up ON PURPOSE so they can be written up and sent to her. But the very next day, they are right back in the class doing the same thing. I had a student loudly slam the door as he walked out of the classroom. I wrote him up, but the very next day. The surrounding teachers are very helpful. I have sent students over to them and they are happy to help. But the students who do create problems will leave the classroom but not go to them. These few students have no respect for teachers and receive NO consequences for their actions. I have never heard of students actually WANTING to be kicked out of the class so they can go to their AP. This school is good for a one day assignment, but not longer. No wonder they always have a shortage for subs.

The first 2 years for DCMS were tough. We went through 3 principals. Things have seemed to settle down this year 09-10. This year was much better over all and I think the teachers responded to the better leadership.

I love this school. My oldest son was the first 8th grade class to come out of Crockett and now we have a 7th grader there. If you think changing the staff has an impact on a childs education it does not because your child move grades each year and will have a differnt staff member either way it goes. I believe that a child picks his or her own destination it is not the schools decision how the child will excel it is the child who decides how they want to excel. I have no complaints regarding this school. And I feel if a parent has a concearn with a school that their child attends then it is that parents department to take that child and move them to a school that they approve of. Not if it will make a world of difference but don't complain about something, change

This will be the 3rd year my daughter attends Crockett Middle School. Each year they have had a different principal and different staff. That means we haven't had any consistency with the leadership on this campus. Also, most of the teachers at this school have less than 5 years teaching experience; that is a big red flag for me.

This a super school. Athletic and arts are very good. Academics are strong, gifted and talented teachers are great. Strong teachers in every area.

About the tests


In 2012-2013, the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) was used to test students in reading and math in grades 3 through 8; in writing in grades 4 and 7; in science in grades 5 and 8; in social studies in grade 8; and end-of-course assessments for English I, II, and II, Algebra I and II, biology and US History. STAAR is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Texas. The goal is for all students to score at or above the state standard.

The different student groups are identified by the Texas Education Agency; if there are a small number of students in a particular group, the state doesn't report data for that group.
