This is a great school with teachers who truly care about the students. This is our second year here and we love it. My advice is get involved and get to know the staff and teachers. You will have a much better experience if you do.

I had my son in first grade the first semester was ok. after the second semester everything start like a nightmare my son was treated as a bad kid it was teacher vs 1st grade child. He was bullied and the teacher did not do anything to resolve the situation neither the principal and at the end of the school year at the final stage presentation my son was discriminated and many times directed to be away from the classmates in stage presentation ... lowest rate.

horrible school the principle leadership is horrible i thought this was supposed to be a nice friendly school but it is completely the opposite

First day of school here was CHAOS!!! This is supposed to be expected by the stuff of this school. Waited for almost an hour just to pick-up my kid. Let's see tomorrow, if there's any changes or if they have any plan at all how the students can go home on time. Very disappointed!

We are only six weeks into the 2009-2010 school year and I have already seen such positive changes. I big part of these changes are due to the new pricipal. She is wonderful. Her door is always open. She is very hands on with the teachers, the parents and most of all, the students. I have two children in this school and I am finally happy they both are attending Barbara Jordon.

Talented and caring teachers monitor individual student progress and achievement and aim to provide as much as possible an individualized program meeting student strengths and weaknesses. My husband and I are very pleased with the school and with the strides our child has made.

I rate this school the lowest score it can get. It starts with the principal who is inept and ineffective as an administrator. She cant manage her school and avoids talking to parents. The kids have no discipline and that starts with the parents. The student are not disciplined in the school, my child is constantly harrassed and bullied by other kids. The amount of apathy in the school is overwhelming. Our child has actually regressed in this horrible enviroment. The red tape is stagnating and everyone wants to say that its someone else's responsibility. I am going to do my best to move out of Fort Bend ISD because the administration wont do anything-you can't even get anyone, other than an assistant, to return a call.

There are lots of newer teaches that do not know how to command a classroom and some of them do not speak respectfully to the children. There are several teachers and staff members that are working very very hard to make a difference but others that are just there because it is what they get paid to do. The extracurricular programs seem to alwas target the same children that already make good grades and I don't see much effort to give positive attention to children that really need it.

Worst experience I've ever had. My kids reading and writing level dropped. Not enough homework and no communication between teacher & parent. Over crowded school. My kids were bullied and pushed by other kids and nothing was done to discipline those kids. Pulled my kids out of the school to start in a new school for 2nd semester.

My child has been at BJE since it opened. The experience has been fantastic. Teachers are friendly, knowledgabe and dedicated. It's a team effort and they get it done. Kudos BJE

My child was in the Pre-K program (which will be displaced for 1 yr (2006-07) due to overcrowding). I was impressed by the goals the group achieved but by the end of the year there was over 20 students in one class! There is a big lack of parental involvement but there is a small group of very dedicated parents and teachers that do their best. It's an average school that lacks community pressure of a higher standard of education. However the diversity is rich and influence of culture is celebrated! That's my favorite part of the school.
