Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

As an 11th grade student now that has went to Lamar Junior High School, I have the right to say that school was the worst I have ever attended. The teachers are horrible, they do not care. I felt uncomfortable everyday walking into that school. It is full of pregnant teens and bullies. I would never advise sending my child to that school. The adults there treat children as minorities. I was ashamed to be a part of that school. If you are debating where to send your child to school, DO NOT choose this one. I am telling you now. Education comes LAST at this school!

This school is awful. My daughter (unfortunately) had to attend this school for one year and every day I dreaded dropping her off. I was told by one of the counslers at the school to get my child out of there as soon as I could; she stated that about 85% of the parents don't care, so in turn the kids don't care about their education and give their teachers a hard time. The teachers seemed to have given up; my daughter is an excellent student, but she was definitely a minority when it came to caring about her education. Check thouroughly into this school before you enroll your child.

The school is very diverse, the teachers are experienced, many themselves are from the area and grew up in the district themselves. Classes are small, lots of individual attention. Extracurricular activities available with space for anyone who wants to join. Small town atmosphere with newly renovated school, inside and out. The extracurricular groups are highly ranked, every year, and my son enjoys going there because his friends come from all sorts of environments, making his world bigger.

I think it is a wonderful school. It is quite diverse, just like the real world, kids can learn about education and cultures in a non-threatening envirnment. Teachers are experienced, many themselves were students at this school and had the deisre to come back to teach! Classes are small, lots of individual attention. Extracurricular activities available with space for anyone who wants to join. Small town atmosphere with newly renovated school, inside and out. State ranked teams from Debate to Football/Swimming!
