My little girl is in pre-k and one of my best options is Holy Rosary, could you moms help me and give me information about this school i am looking for a school with high education and care for my daughter.
My children attend HRCS. The quality of education they are receiving is excellent. Children begin learning study skills and organizational skills early. The curriculum is challenging but each child is challenged at his/her own level. At our old public school, I felt that my child was just a number...not here. Every teacher we have had seems to go the extra mile to connect with our children and learn their own strengths and weaknesses. The value of the education they are getting is immeasurable.
This is a cute little school that many people have never heard of in Rosenberg. The early elementary program (PK - 3rd grade) is excellent and the upper elementary program (4-5) is also good. Every thing falls apart in Junior High. The curriculum, except Religion class, is basically the Texas public school "academic" level curriculum. Students who are above average intelligence, self-motivated and who get lots of help from home do well when they go on to the local Catholic high schools. The teachers seem to make their own rules and there is little accountability to the administration. Communication is very poor. We gave it a few years but are moving our family to another Catholic school at the end of this year. It will be a longer drive but much less frustrating.
My children attended Holy Rosary. Unfortunately, the school wasn't what we expected and we decided to move elsewhere. The teachers, in general, are very capable and academically the school is acceptable. However, the weak leadership and apathetic responses to issues that need to be addressed have resulted in a poor environment. The facilities are in need of improvement and the extra-curricular options are next to nothing. Thankfully, Fort Bend County is expanding and now has other options for families wanting their children to attend private school - just not another Catholic school. I think that some are trying to identify the problems that the school has in hope of coming up with resolutions. My advice would be to wait until that process is completed before wasting your family's time and money.
My children have attended Holy Rosary since Kindergarten. Although HRCS does not brag about their academics, there is no question that their graduates are well prepared to enter any high school. Over the past ten years, almost all (99%) of our students who wanted to attend Strake Jesuit, St. Agnes, John XXIII, or other Catholic high schools have been accepted. Most of our graduates who attend public schools are taking honors and AP courses. The teachers, as a whole, do a wonderful job preparing our children academically and spiritually.
The technology at Holy Rosary School is very up to date and integrated into all curriculum levels.
Our family attended Holy Rosary for many years. Holy Rosary prides itself on it's website stating it offers the lowest tuition for a private school in the area, that is true. The school made some upgrades, but we were unhappy with the level of education our children received. When we looked at other private schools, we felt that other local private schools offered newer facilities and better academic programs, all at a minimal tuition increase. When the bottom line is the education of your child, take a look at all options before committing to HRCS.
Holy Rosary is a small school with a great student ratio per teacher. Unfortunately, leadership is lacking at this school and is reflected in the quality of education. Personal experience with some staff and principal has been very unprofessional. Little appears to being addressed to change the shortcomings and rather resulting in wasting time that should be spent teaching to prompt and inspire the children to learn. The playground is nil and could use an uplift so that the children get some physical activity in their day.
The teachers put in a great amount of effort into schooling the children. The principal is very involved and looks to the best interest of the student- she always has a 'glass is half-full' outlook. The parents are greatly involved. It is a small community where the students get to know each other very well. And the parents too. Sometimes it's hard for new students to fit in and sometimes it's hard for parents to realize that as children grow they can change- as should their reputations. They have updated their library, added a new building, updated ALL the technology. Their playground could definately be updated though... Overall, a great school and will be sending my children there.
