The school is fair, at best. The teachers seem to be doing a good job. Parent involvement is where the school lacks. It is in a low economic area of town. Many of the students come from Spanish speaking homes. I am not aware of any extra activities for the students other than assisting with the drop off line before school.

Voigt Elementary is a good school with great teachers. Although I agree there are some better than others they have one thing in common-the love of the kids. The administration is struggling this year and is apparent in the lack of communication to the parents and teachers however the PTA has been great last year and this year and is really keeping the school together - hats of to the PTA Board for all of the hardwork and dedication they give to the school, kids and parents.

Some teachers are better than others. With two children in this school we saw much different results. One had a very involved teacher (Mrs. Chavez), which paid off in that child's grades. Other child had a somewhat disconnected teacher, poor parent/teacher communication and little interest in challenging child's potentials. Through all of that, the second child still kept up a B average with the help of us the parents actually teachng her what she wasn't learnng in school. Hence, little was learned in that grade. On the other hand, administrative office was wonderful! They would go out of their way to accommodate children's needs. All in all, a good school!

The teachers work very hard to meet the needs of each student. Parental involvement isn't as strong as it could be.

Our child transfered here mid year last year. It was the best transition we could have ever hoped for and we believe it was mostly due to Mrs. Chavez (grade K)that made it so. We are very happy to have our child continue in this school.

Fortunately my duaghter learns quickly otherwise I think she would have had lots of trouble at this school. She started at Voigt in the second semester of 3rd grade. Her third grade teacher was excellent. Her fourth was good but lacked patience with the kids who caused problems. Her 5th grade teacher never gave any homework which you think would be a blessing but I believe she didn't do it because she didn't want to have to grade the homework. I very rarely saw any graded homework and questioned how she came up with my daughters grades. There also aren't any programs for the children to participate in besides Student Councel and safety patrol for the fifth graders. Overall this school is good but I would suggest finding a better school.

Overall, the teachers here showed a lot of concern and care for the students. Programs were great and kept the parents involved. Great School!

Xenia Voigt is a fine school. Teachers treat and educate each child as if they were gifted and talented. It is known as a POPS school, the anancronym escapes me. My child attened Voight for 2 years and made excellent progrerss. Her teachers were concerned and caring, and there were a variety of after school activities she could participate in. Parental involvement was not aqs great as I hoped for, but the school is in an economically disadvantaged area with a high percentage of one parent households. I did notice an acceptable turnout for evening activities and award ceremonies, as well as lunch time visits. I was very satisfied with my child's progress during her time there.
