great school, teachers, administration, would like to see more security, patroling...I've seen campus police parked in areas of not much intrest, instead of doing foot patroling and maybe sometimes helping with traffic..would be great if we could get some community involvement from our campus police.

Both my children have gone to Pecan Valley since they were 5 years old. Pecan Valley is a school where the children come first and parent are always encourage to come in and participate in the class or in the school. Each child is encouraged to do their best. The teachers are highly skilled and work hard. The principal is kind and knows each child by name. She is a great leader. The children are always praised and greeted with smiles. The children always learn more than they need to excel to the next grade. This school and district is the best I have ever seen. We love East Central District and will continue our education here.....

I chose ECISD, because of the academic scoring, but stayed because of the staff. The community and especially the parent involvement is the best I've ever seen. We are all truly happy here. I have 2 down and 2 to go and am looking forward to the years we'll be spending here.

About the tests

In 2010-2011, the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) was used to test students in reading in grades 3 through 9; in writing in grades 4 and 7; in English language arts in grades 10 and 11; in mathematics in grades 3 through 11; in science in grades 5, 8, 10 and 11; and in social studies in grades 8, 10 and 11. TAKS is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Texas. The grade 11 Exit Level TAKS is a high school graduation requirement. The goal is for all students to score at or above the state standard.
