As a graduating senior i can tell you first hand that this school is decent. School population is very small, and for the most part we all get along well. As we all are of a military background there isnt much problem with discipline. Only problem i can see is the food! unlike other highschools who sell junk food, we are severly limited in that aspect.(unfortunate for us, a plus for the parents)

Academically sound. Conscientious teachers who truly care about their students. Brand new science and arts faciltiy. Sports include football, soccer, baskertball, baseball, swimming, girl's volleyball, and track. Exceptional parent involvement in all aspects of the school.

RGC Jr/Sr High School is one of the best schools I, myself, have ever attended. They offer many electives that will help the students in the long run. For example, Foreign Languages, Band, Choir, Advanced courses, Gifted and Talented Exploration (G.A.T.E.),Student Council, and many more. Teachers strive for the best of thier students and never put down or insult them. They work hard on building good self-esteem and a healthy social relationship. Although there isn't much interaction between parent and student at school, Cole sends home letters on what has been occuring at school. There is also a Cougar Pride Club, who helps raise funds and support our school spirit. It is a great school, and you shouldn't pass it up if you have a chance to attend. I wish I could have stayed longer, but that's the military child's life! ~A Proud Cougar Cub

Very good school. Low pupil/teacher ratio. Caring and friendly staff. Even though I'm moving off post, I'll pay for my kids to continue attending RGC!

My sister and I both attended Cole High School and I have to say that it has stayed with us through all of these years. The staff was wonderful, the education impeccable and the environment incredible. All the teachers, counselors and other staff were always so interactive with all of the students. It was because of this that the school didn't have nearly the amount of problems of the other schools in the area. I only wish now that my son could attend the school also. Keep up the great work. It is much appreciated and cherished.

For a small school Cole High School has a tremendous capacity to offer a variety of courses and extracurricular activities. Counselors are the best I've seen. The administration focuses on the students, discipline and interaction of parents and faculty. Administration has the future of the campus under control and creates a great environment for learning. Added to the mix is a added advantage/disadvantage of being co-located on an Army Installation. The counselors/administrators work extremely well with the ever changing student population and those stressors of military children. Superb school, I'm sorry all of my children couldn't have attended.

I think this school is great. It has lots of professional people and great teachers. I think this school was the best I've ever gone to.

About the tests


In 2012-2013, the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) was used to test students in reading and math in grades 3 through 8; in writing in grades 4 and 7; in science in grades 5 and 8; in social studies in grade 8; and end-of-course assessments for English I, II, and II, Algebra I and II, biology and US History. STAAR is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Texas. The goal is for all students to score at or above the state standard.

The different student groups are identified by the Texas Education Agency; if there are a small number of students in a particular group, the state doesn't report data for that group.

About the tests
