My son has been going to Northern Hills since the 2nd grade and now is in the Fourth grade. But what I love most of this school is the Teachers and Mr. Barr. My son would talk on how much he loves this school. How the teachers make him feel special and help him greatly on school work. The Mrs. Verstegen has been a great impact in his life. Sadly we are moving to El Paso. But she has guided him to improving and self worth in himself. She shows Her class that they can do anything. We are going to miss her she is a true Bronco Teacher and hands down this school is they best if you move to this area.
I am truly welcoming of parents to take part of their child (s) education. But how every teacher took part of keeping my child feeling welcomed and how they each made him feel that you can do it attitudes. Even though my child was not their student in class each teacher tried to get toknow him. The principle greeted students and parents every morning and afternoon. Made sure each student was pumped up and ready to have a great day. Next Year will be a great one as well.
Northern Hills is an inviting school where the teachers care about their students and are always striving to do more. The teachers work hard to motivate their students and consistently give of their own time for after school clubs and tutoring.
Academics seem decent, many of the teachers seem to sincerely care, but the upkeep of the school is horrendous. They let graffiti markings stay outside the school buildings for months before removing it. Also, there is not a bit of shade in the outside play area. Not good on a hot Texas days.
