Bush Middle School

I am a student here and I LOVE BUSH MIDDLE SCHOOL i have so many friends and the education is great we hardly get homework for me getting no homework is great but for some other parents that might be a concern.. I still learn alot though LOVE THIS SCHOOL

Barbara Bush Middle school administration needs a tune up! The teachers are good and our kids had no issues with them directly. It is the administration that needs the help. The school administration did not follow our special needs son's individual education plan or his Behavioral intervention plan. TEA agreed with us the parents as well, but the school still did NOT follow these plans developed by us the parents and thier own committee. The review that states that new student are no welcome at this school is redicules, my child is a new student and he has not had any problems being accepted. This is a great school with teachers and staff that go out bof their way to help you.

My daughter is in sixth grade at Bush Middle school. She is enthusiastic and is eager to go back to school every Monday morning. The principal is outstanding and you can not ask for a better learning environment.

Bush middle school is excellent academically. My daughters teachers are all great and did attempt to help her move into middle school midyear. I found the counselors to be extremely unhelpful... and there is no program in place to integrate new students. The course choices are done in October almost a year prior. My son entering 6th grade and daughter entering 8th grade missed any orientation for electives despite having enrolled November of last year. Band program is particularly poor in this area. We missed summer band program because they failed disseminate information until a week before.(new students not in database) My daughter was also excluded from end of year band trip because she was a new student (6 months before trip) New families prepare to hound counselors to make sure your kids are on the right track. Not recommend for military families as new students are not welcomed.

I go to Barbara bush middle school. Ive been going to bush for 6, 7 ,and 8th grade. I really like it alot. There isnt really a mean crowd of people. Everyone is very nice. We also do very good on taks. (TAKS is a test that you take once a yar for reading, math ect.) They also make you take a health class in 6th grade but its very nice cause you can get yr cpr then. I strongly encourage you to go to this school.

We love this school. My children seem to be growing so much in maturity and their learning skills have advanced in only 4 months. The programs, support, and keeping parents informed has been exceptional! I've had no complaints and very happy with our decision to move here.

I don't know how this school is rated exemplary. How can an exemplary school have classes with 35 to 40 students. Some of the classes are even in trailers.

Very active PTA, very nice kids. We just moved here from Plano (March 2008) and my kids couldn't be happier. The band program is especially good. One of the things I like best about Bush is the relative lack of materialism in the kids. It's not one big designer handbag competition!

Bush Middle School is by far the best place to work in public school education! All of the faculty have a sincere yearn for our students to do well. The students have a strong want to do well in all academic, elective, and athletic classes. I love the environment at work and the team effort displayed by all who enter the front door... including parents! This is a place were a collaborative effort is demonstrated by the administration, faculty, parents, and students! What a great place to work!

For the parent who said that they don't offer clinics or extra help...there is morning coaching (tutoring) available EVERY DAY. In addition, many teachers offer additional sessions closer to TAKS. My son has made a wonderful transition from a small private school with a fifth grade class of 10 to Bush, thanks to the structure, expectations, and pride demonstrated by the faculty and staff.

This is an awsome school. They have morning couching for students that need extra help or were unable to finish their homework the night before. The entire staff is wonderful.

Bush Middle School does not offer support for the students that need more help i.e. math clinics. This is very disappointing.

This is an awesome school! Our children have been enrolled in school in Mississisppi and Louisiana and this school is the best by far! All of the teachers are outstanding. The administration is the best I've ever encountered. These are smart people who know what they are doing! Students have numerous choices for music, art, sports, technology, etc. Parents are constantly at the school helping out. I've never seen anything like it! There are no discipline problems at Bush (other than little things like gum chewing, etc.) You can't go wrong at Bush!

This school is Outstanding! We recently moved from Maryland and my child had a horrible 3 years there. Moving to Texas worried me a little but I can't begin to say what a wonderful experience this has been. There are tons of children who are from all over not just San Antonio. The Faculty and Staff are Top Notch! They made me as a parent feel very welcome and their volunteers are wonderful as well. My son has done a 360 degree turn around since going to this school. This was the best move we ever made. My 5th grader can't wait to go to Bush next year. Thanks Bush for being the Best of the Best!

My child came from a private school background and this will be her 2nd year in public school! the quality of the teachers and their commitment to the students is incredible! she loves the school and all the extracurricular activities that I don't have to pay extra anymore! It is so wonderful to see my taxes provide such a wonderful campus along with the opportunity for my child to learn more and be better prepared for college.
