My daughter has attened OME school since Kindergarden, and I must say, this is one of the best schools! They are extremely Parent Teacher oriented, and involve the students in whatever they can! This is like a private school with the exception of teaching the Word. - OME shows leadership and other schools should attempt to be more like them!
My daughter attends to this school, this is her first year and I love it, out of all the schools around the area this is my favorite one, the teachers are so nice and they dedicate their time to the students, she has learned so much and she is just in P-K
I currently have 1 child in this school and so far have been very pleased. I love how they great every kid @ the door and know 99% of all names. It's very "family" oriented, so far everyone seems very involved and caring and all are focused on learning which reflect in test scores. Some PTA members are very "Blah" and monotone. I love how kids art work is displayed for all to see. Sign language is huge there and I appreciate that as well. Seems very safe as well. I wish there were more technology used there. (Texting teachers, more emails, video etc) Overall I am happy I picked Oak Meadow over where she was "suppose" to go and even over school located Huebner which never called me back to set up an appointment to walk the school. Oak Meadow allows me to sleep at night that my child is in good hands.
I have had two children in this school, and I have been very pleased. They are both in the GT classes and have found it to be challenging and rewarding. The school has been very responsive when my children had difficulties related to family issues. The sign-language classes are particularly good.
My son entered kindergarten at this school and I was extremely disappointed. I had heard good things about this school and had researched it before he started. However, what I read and what I found personally were extremely disjointed. The teacher was more concerned with whether my son would behave in class than what he was going to be learning. I also found the office staff to be very unfriendly.
The teachers and staff are wonderful, very caring and concern about the children. Specially Ms. White. She's the Special Education Teacher.
Good reading program, but trying to deal with administration outside of the teacher is very frustrating. Communication, coordination is bad and there is no follow through. This is a good school if your child does not require assisstance outside of the classroom. If your child requires additional help, look elsewhere.
Our child has been at the school since first grade because his school was capped, and we were a little concerned at first, not knowing how Oak Meadow was going to measure up. We cannot say enough positive things about the school and the staff/teachers. Our boy absolutely loves going to school, and he looks forward to the start of the school year. All his teachers have been superb and caring, looking after his needs as if he is the only kid in the class. We hope that he can stay at Oak Meadow until he is ready to move on to the sixth grade. The KIN after school program at the school is also great, and it makes us feel great to know that he is well taken care of until I can get off work to pick him up.
Great School! The strentgth of this active school is active parent involvement. The teachers are excellent, as well as the administrative staff. The Gifted and Talented teacher is superb, and the kids love 'GT' day because of her. There are many after school organizations for the older kids (including strings, student council, drama, teacher-helpers, buddies with younger kids), and lots of fun days for all kids (including bike rodeo, fiesta parade, Chinese parade, book caf , county fair, book fairs, carnival, sock hop, talent show). Fifth graders have a full schedule of graduating events. Again, great school!
Oak Meadow Elementary is an exceptionally well run school which provides a terrific environment for learning. The teachers and staff are very dedicated and highly skilled, creating an atmosphere of community, respect, and learning adventure. The level of parental involvement is the highest I've seen in my forty plus years. In short, all aspects of the educational experience at Oak Meadow are very positive.
This is my childs first year at this school. The time that the teachers and staff have spent with him is like the best care that he has recieved any where. They care about him and all the children that go to this school. He wish he could stay with me longer, but he will be leaving soon to be with his mother. I can only hope that he will be given the best care like he has been given here. I wish to thank his teacher Ms. Bolint and Cindy for all there help. I have had a great time working with you both. I hope that all the time we have spent with him will not go to waste. Thank you.
