I have my daughter in this school and its has been the worse decision i've ever made. Bullying in this school for girls is out of hand, even several teachers have admitted that its beyond worst what they have seen in other district. The number of pregnant 6th graders has disgusted me, as well as number of 8th graders skipping class or walking halls. The principal has no regard for his students nor for the parents seeking to help their children. My child was assualted and her phone stolen by a bully, yet this bully was only suspended for one day, and when I went to speak with the principal about this, all I got was that he didn't want to hear it and passed it off to others that knew nothing of the situation. The situation worsen due to his undermining of my concern and even openly mocking me. I would never recommend this school to anyone and would rather drive across town to another school if I have too. I hope that any parent with their child currently enrolled or thinking of having them there please look at the ratings and reviews on this. It would have saved my family this undue stress if we did so.

Our family, being prior military, has attended several schools in the US. My sons, who are now in college attended schools in the NEISD and NISD. My daughter had attended school in the NEISD until we moved into the SAISD. I don't know about other middle schools in SAISD, BUT we are currently moving back to the NEISD area due to Twain M/S. This is after 4 meetings at the school in a months time. Four meetings because one teacher who scheduled two meetings was a no show. Actually 2 NO CALL/NO SHOWS! I was present and the nurse and counselor were present for all meetings and the Assist. Principal was present for the second meeting and 4th. The teacher who set up the appointments neglected to inform anyone that she wasn't attending. (I only know she didn't attend the 2nd because of an emergency she had to attend to - which turned out to be just a flat tire). Due to this teacher and the principal - he was in NO WAY helpful in the whole ordeal AND when I mentioned the Superintendent, he stated that he wouldn't be able to do anything about it anyway. This attitude is in NO Way conducive to a childs educational/emotional/physical well being!

I really love this school. I am a 6th grader here and I LOVE it here. The sports are great, the clubs are so much fun! There's just so much to offer at Mark Twain Middle School.

I proudly teach 6th English Language Arts at Twain. I feel honored to be apart of the Twain team. The teachers go out of their way to connect with their students and parents. All of the teachers really care about their student's academic success. This year we have started several extracurricular activities that support student's overall development and content areas. Our science club, journalism club, literary club, and drama club are a great addition to our exisiting mariachi, band, choir and sports programs. Our PTA has strong leadership and is very supported at the school. Twain is making great leaps and our students will benefit greatly.
