Profile Completeness

INTERMEDIATE

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

Horrible and waste of money, clueless and money grubbers. Would not send my child here.

I see kids after school playing flag football having fun and the coaches are outstanding. The two guys that run the Offense from what I see, are making this school stand out. They are great leaders and even more wonderful people. The other coaches are good too, but the two guys I saw that were working with the Offense were awesome... And hot too :)

St. John Bosco is an excellent school because of the stuructured environment. Every student has specific goals and expectations. The greatest goal set for my child is to attend college and to reach HEAVEN. What more can a parent want from a school. There isn't a perfect school with perfect administration or staff. We are all human and fall short of perfection. What we can do is work together with the school and help each other reach the goal. Come and see St. John Bosco if your looking for the a safe and acedenically/spiritually sound environment for your child.

I love this school because my child is receiving a tremendous witness of Catholic faith from the Salesian Sisters, teachers, and staff. The family spirit is strongly felt because my child is well accepted as individual. I wouldn't trade it for anything else.

I attended from 4k-8th and loved the education and family I met there. I have a history of family attendance who have continued their education. Now I am looking to place my daughter in school and there is no question where she will attend. There are still teachers here from when I attended so I know its a great family that she will come to know and love!

I love this school. It's a school with a strong administration that does not allow any special interest group of parents run the show. Kids with discipline problems are put in place swiftly without having a chance to influence the others. The school environment is the greatest, safest, enjoyable, family-like and the principal is fair no matter how loud a parent complains or objects. I like that! Some parents really get out of hand. This principal knows how to encourage students to reach their potential. Most importantly, I know my kids are going to come home having prayed and having learned something about God in their life. Their morning assemblies get me started on the right foot. You can't help but be moved how these kids honor their country, state and world. Kids run the show. . . then the wonderful thought going with the day's Gospel. I love it!

This is a school that goes beyond excellent. We have great parents, kids and fantastic teachers! Academics are top notch: music, art, foreign language, advanced placement course work, sports for all grades and a variety of clubs. Parents must be involved, discipline problems are not tolerated, neither from the parents nor the students, the principal makes sure of that. We have great teachers who go above and beyond because they teach and love their students. Most importantly, you have a great community of religious, the Salesian Sisters, who make sure that God is the center of our children's everyday life. SJB is one of the few schools that still has Sisters. St. John Bosco School is San Antonio's best kept secret. I will do what it takes to make sure my three children continue and graduate from St. John Bosco. Students who graduate from SJB are among our highschools' very best!

My son have been attending St.John Bosco School for a little while.I have had a very hard time trying to establish a communication line with the school principal. It feels like she only speaks to the parents that she sees will benefit her. she'll brush you off if she knows that you are there to complain about her staff. I do not recommend this school.

I have been a part of St. John Bosco school for more than 15 years. This year, I have had one problem after another with the administration's lack of professionalism and lack of respect for the parents. The rules for the students are also inconsistent between kids and can be random on some days. Rules seem to change back and forth daily, as if on a whim. The students themselves are not always clear about the expectations until they are given Saturday detention. I am very disappointed in the way the staff has treated my family this year. It was not only unexpected but unwarranted. Also, there seems to be several safety issues due to lack of proper supervision throughout the day. I would not recommend this school.

St. John Bosco is a great school. The Salesian Sisters are wonderful and the children are their first priority. I am a former student and my son was also a student. Their philosophy is where children learn to love and love to learn.

This year is the first for my daughter who is in first grade. Academically, my daughter is being challenged and is rewarded for her hard work. The children get free coupons to eateries around San Antonio, take part in academic competitions, and are recognized in school assemblies. My daughter actively plays sports for the school. There are many clubs and activities for the children that have more than one parent who volunteers there services. The only mishap that I have with the school, is the frequent fundraising of monies.

I just recently removed my son from the school due to destructive attitude from the principal. She was very controlling and treated us like children. My son loved his friends and the school, and was proud to be an eagle. His first year was great; we decided to send him back for a second, but I feel the leadership of the school says a lot about the direction the school is taking. I will not allow my son to be intimidated by his teachers. There is a difference in disciplining a child and breaking his spirit.

Love the school although there is too much homework assigned limiting the amount of time needed for extra curricular activities. Principal needs to learn how to accept criticism and listen to different ideas from parents. She needs to remember that the school is not her school but belongs to all the parents who have children attending there, and paying high tuition. Remember the family environment.

This is a very good school. It is so much fun and the teachers really help a lot. I love going there every day. I think they need to stop being so strict though.
