This was a great school from the start. We moved out here from El Paso and interviewed several school. Out of all the schools we interviewed this School is the one the kids liked the best, and they were the only ones who prayed with us before our interview, they were the only ones who called us back at the end of the day to see how we like to school and our search was going. Our kids were a little behind in reading and they went above and beyond to catch them up. School staff and teachers as well as the parents that we've met have been very nice and very helpful. I also like the fact that the superintendent of the school isn't afraid of getting his hands dirty and stepping right into the action and helping out. I have yet to meet A teacher or staff member who isn't willing to go above their call of duty to help the kids or parents. I would definitely recommend this school to anyone in and around the San Antonio area. Although we felt the school was priced high at the time of our interview we also felt it was well worth it by the end of the school year. Still believe it's a bit high but it's hard to put a price on your child's education.

CHFBS is an incredible school that consistently manages to top it's own performance year after year. I began to attend Castle Hills as a preschooler in 1984 and graduated as a Senior in 2000. Now, I am a teacher in the school and have my own son enrolled in kindergarten. CHFBS is far more than a school, it is a community and a family. The teachers are encouraging and supportive, and genuinely care about each student individually. The academic standards are high, and extracurricular activities including athletics, clubs, and the arts abound. I strongly urge all parents considering schools in the area to come in person to speak to the staff and to see the students and the facility. This is a special and blessed place.

This is truly a great school here in San Antonio. The teachers are loving but encoourage kids to achieve their very best academically. The staff has looked out for the well being of my kids and let me know when they had any concerns. The superintendant is VERY hands on and knows and chats with the kids daily. His Christian leadership is felt throught the entire campus. My kids are in High School and find the teachers and courses to be sufficiently challenging. We also love that parental involvement is allowed and highly encouraged at Castle Hills.

CHFBS is an uplifting and positive place to go to school, as well as work. We recently moved to San Antonio, and luckily found CHFBS. My children are in 2nd and 4th grade, and I love both the academic challenge and the Christ-centered attitude in their classes. I love that the over parents have similar values and expectations for their children. I also am a teacher in the secondary part of the school. Wow! I have the privilage of teaching amazing kids who have a bright future. I hope my own children grow up to have the work ethic, desire to suceed, kindness, humility, love of service, school spirit, respect, humor, and desire to follow Christ that I see in my students. I think CHFBS is the tops, and I encourage interested parents/students to come check it out!

We made the change from the public school system to private this year and we are so happy we did! Castle Hills staff cares about the kids, not just about numbers (grades, awards, etc). Our daughter is thriving there, not just surviving. We have 3 more kids heading to Castle Hiils in the future, and we are at peace about where they will be.

I cannot say enough about the quality of education at CHFBS. There is a culture of academic excellence at this school which is grounded in a Christ-centered atmosphere. It can be felt from your first encounter with the administration, faculty, and/or students. My children have been enriched by their time here and will never attend any other school. CHFBS is the best! 'We are because HE is'

My daughter is currently a junior in high school at CHFBS. I have 4 sons who attended a public school system and knew I did not want her doing the same. I enrolled her into the pre-school program at CHFBS, and then the elementary program to where she is now. I was always extremely pleased with each phase of education, as every aspect of her learning experience was exemplary. It actually seemed that each phase just got better and better. The secondary staff is superior, as our superintendent strives for our secondary faculty to have master degrees or better. But, more than the level of their degree, they each bring invaluable experience and a dedicated heart for teaching and sincere love for our children, which is exactly what teaching should be. The administration team is a dedicated team that works together to provide education with excellence. Not only am I pleased with the quality of education she has received but the spiritual education at CHFBS has given her something far more valuable that anything she could have received at any other school. I know that when my daughter graduates this next year, she is well prepared to face whatever lies ahead.

Excellent academic and Christian values are taught at CHFBS. My daughter is in kindergarten and son is a freshman and both are growing up to be well-behaved and intelligent children. The superintendent, principals and vice-principals are excellent role models and are the back bone of the school.

Our daughter has been at chubs for 3 years and I cannot image a better school. She is challenged academically, participates in multiple extracurricular activities and plays varsity sports. She has grown in her leadership ability and her relationship with Christ. I encourage you to Make an appointment for a tour or come to an open house, you will not regret it.

My daughter graduated from this fine school in 1991. Now I have three grandsons who have been attending for 6 years. We are very happy with the excellence in all areas of this school. The teachers have a heart for the Lord and for the students, the academics are above average and technology in the classroom is becoming cutting edge. Mr. Pinkston came on board in 2010 as Superintendent and has made great strides in putting the school "on the map". Athletics are excelling in all areas and continuing to grow. The Varsity Football team which just started 4 years ago has advanced to play the state championship game.

We have had 2 children at Castle Hills First Baptist School for over 6 years. The school and teachers are very supportive, easy to work with and get information from, and truly dedicated to lifting up the students so they reach their full potential. We are sending our third child there next year when she enters the first grade. If you are seeking a school with a strong focus on Christian education and leadership, this is definitely one you should look into further.

We have been a part of CHFBS for 3 years now. I have had children in every area (elementary, intermediate, middle school and high school). Of the many Christian schools my children have attended (due to relocation, not dissatisfaction), I can honestly say that CHFBS stands out above the rest. Strong academics, competitive sports, and most importantly, a Christ centered education are provided here. EVERY faculty and staff member exhibit this standard daily. I have always felt heard, appreciated and loved, and my children have felt the same, no exceptions. I cannot recommend this school enough!

First and foremost, Christ is being known at Castle Hills First Baptist School, so He gets all the Glory, biblically speaking. Academically, there is an emphasis on high achievement as well as doing your best by loving, caring, well adjusted, and needless to say, high ranking teachers and staff who love the Lord and are willing to go the "extra mile" for a student to achieve their endeavors. Let us not forget, the hardworking godly grandfather, father, son, brother, uncle, hence superintendent Mr. Michael Pinkston who runs rampant with his passionate personality and sincere devotion to such a Christian institution. It is truly a wonderful experience we have encountered to be under such leadership that Mr. "P" displays. If you are considering CHFBS, you will not be disappointed. And the student body are very welcoming. It's truly a family here at CHFBS. Soli Deo Gloria!

Castle Hills First Baptist has a first-rate school, with excellent students, faculty, leadership and facilities. The school prepared me for my future, and my wife and I have now entrusted the school with helping us teach our second grade daughter (with other kids to follow). If you're interested in teaching your children a Biblical worldview, then look no further. This is the place.

Since the classes at Castle Hills are not as large as public school classes, students like me are able to learn easier with their teachers. While I was at public school it was difficult for me to understand math. However, after my family and I decided moving to a smaller school to test it out not only did I find Christ but I also gained an experience no public school can provide. Furthermore, The athletic program is great and the only flaw I see in it is that there is no soccer team. Other than that the school football team is great as well as our other sports.

This school teaches nothing relevant to the 21st century. Your child will be inundated with terrible worksheets and bible verse memorization. The Christian textbooks are so slanted and completely inauthentic, leaving out major themes. This outdated curriculum won't prepare your child for college, nor will it impress any college admissions inside or outside of Texas so forget scholarships. You can take your child to Sunday school and get a more comprehensive bible education. You're better off going to public school and placing the extra money in your 401k.

We are in our fourth year at CHFBS. When my daughter's school closed mid-year due to financial issues, we interviewed several different private, Christian schools. It was the unashamed love for Jesus Christ and the school's big plans to excell even further academcially that solidified our decision. The administration, teachers and students welcomed my daughter and now four years later we are still amazed at the love, care and education we are direct recipients of. The superintendent's energy and goals know no bounds and we are excited to see what our partnership with CHFBS brings in the next five years!

We have invested our lives into this school (and church;) community because we see God working through the amazing people He has placed there. Mr. Pinkston works tirelessly to improve on every detail imaginable, but more importantly to make every child there know they are loved. Mrs. Jacobs, the elementary principal, is a wonderful encourager and on top of everything! From the administration to the teachers to the custodial staff, CHFBS is blessed with top-notch individuals. Our first grade daughter has benefitted greatly from an atmosphere that nurtures and challenges at the same time!

Our daughter started 8th grade this year after being home schooled for the elementary grades. Our family has been warmly welcomed by both students and teachers. We have been especially pleased with the strong leadership of the superintendent whose desire is to bring exceptional teachers on staff in order to offer a quality education as well as inspire the students to live their lives in dedication to the Lord Jesus. We couldn't be more pleased and give God the glory for His leading us to Castle Hills.

As a grandparent, it makes my heart rejoice as I listen to my granddaughter singing Christain songs around the house. She started her education in public school and I did not see a happy child. She dreaded going to school. Then she transferred over to Castle Hills First Baptist and the happy child that I had known returned. She was absent for a day and truly missed seeing her teacher. I am thankful for the individual attention that she receives. She is interacting in a school situation that has excellent teachers and strong leadership in the administration. I appreciate that she is being challenged academically and strives to do her best. Castle Hills First Baptist School is giving my granddaughter the education that she needs not only for today but for the rest of her life.

This is our second year at CHFBS and LOVE IT! Mr. Pinkston and staff are amazing, care for your children like no other school, and put Christ in center of the kids lives every day. Our daughter had 2 major surgeries in 4 month span. The superintendent called and prayed over our daughter for each surgery and afterwards. Pls tell me which school you know that that the superintendent calls and prayers over his/her students...hmmm? Every single member of the staff has been amazingly helpful during our first 2 years and have become our very dear family. Growing the kids in maturity of their walk with Christ is the core being of this school and the staff - they walk the walk every day!

We personally have had 2 children graduate from CHFBS, and now 'the second generation' is enrolled in 1st grade. She just relocated from out of state, and has been embraced with open arms by the students and the faculty. She LOVES going to school, and is already reading at a 3rd grade level, b/c of the teacher's strong emphasis on outside reading. We are anticipating nothing but growth in all areas of the school- academics, sports, music, languages, computer-- because of the great vision being implemented by CHFBS's charismatic and passionate new Superintendent! Also, the security of our children is a TOP priority with a good system of supervision in place. Best of all, a vital relationship with the Living God is embodied by the staff, so God is glorified in the classroom and on the field. That is in itself worth the cost of a private education and we feel it is a worthy investment, physically, emotionally and spiritually attending this school. Soli Deo Gloria.

We are in our 3rd year at Castle Hills First Baptist and love this school. It is so good to be in stable school with very capable devoted teachers and an administration that genuinely cares about the student and families. We are very happy with CHFBS. We recently moved to SA and are consequently new to the school. Our entire family has been made to feel welcome by all. Our child was apprehensive at first. Is now doing great in school and in other school related activities. The staff is very competent, friendly and helpful. A genuine 'family' atmosphere. Although Christ and academics are stressed (as they should be), the quality of the sports programs at CHFBS are very competitive. Each student is exposed to a wide variety of sports, clubs and other activities. Mr. Michael Pinkston, CHFBS Superintendent, is full energy and a great natural leader. Our child is in trusted hands. Thanks CHFBS - Jim M.

My husband and I have been very happy with CHFBS not only due to the high academic standards but also the spiritual leadership that flows through the school through the teachers and principals. Both principals and teachers really care and really want each child to succeed not only academially but also to strengthen their elationship with Christ. I would recommend this school with out any reservations. What more can a parent ask for but to be able to provide a superior academic education that is submersed in Christ to their children? Castle Hills First Baptist School has been a home for my daughter since pre-school, she is now in the 6th grade, preparing to enter middle school next year . I cannot say enough wonderful things about this school, not only is my daughter receiving an amazing education, but also an outstanding spiritual up-bringing as well. It is very important to me that my daughters to to a solid, Christ-centered school and this is the place. As my youngest goes to pre-school here and will be entering Kindergarten in the next year. Our family has been at the school for 8 years. We have had a daughter graduate and attend college. She was well prepared for her college courses and is doing great in college. We have two children still at CHFBS and we are very happy with the challenging curriculum, the Bible teaching, and the elective and sports options available. There is a warm and friendly family environment every time I walk in the door and the students enjoy spending time at the school. The teachers spend time getting to know the students and are faithful in teaching them their identity in Christ. This is an amazing school and we look forward to seeing our other two children graduate from Castle Hills.

My oldest son first attended CHFBC preschool and has been at CHFBS from Kinder and is now in second grade. The love that the teachers have for the students, for learning, and for God makes the school a fantastic place. My son is a high achiever and has been kept challenged and stimulated in all areas of study. Sometimes he is ahead of the class and then the teachers slightly modify the assignment to be more challenging. My youngest son is moving from the preschool to Kinder in 2011 and we are so excited to have him start in this great school. The new superintendant is fantastic and has great vision of where God wants him to take the school.

I am so proud of the beautiful job they are doing by instilling the three R's and the love of the Word of God. I am blown away by the charisma and ideas that our brand new superintendent has for evolving CHFBS into one that abundantly exceeds my expectations. Mr. Pinkston has a vision for GREATNESS! He is so passionate and inspiring. I am thrilled about what CHFBS currently is, yet I cannot wait to see what is to come! I am a public school science teacher, have taught at some of the "best" public high schools in town, and know what programs are available. I also know the dangers that lurk around every corner for the hearts, minds and bodies of my students. However, what CHFBS has to offer in Spiritual education and protection is eternally priceless, beyond the rigor of academia. My daughter HATES to EVER miss school. She is treated with love by her teachers and has excelled in everything she does. She can read almost anything and is only at the beginning of her Spring sem. of 1st grade. She s taught about honor, character, kindness, obedience, attentiveness, initiative, etc. She has a breadth and understanding of the love of God that most adults I know do not.

I attended Castle Hills Fist Baptist School from Kinder garden all the way to my Senior year back in 2007. I had the choice in going to other schools but I really liked Castle Hills and I loved the education and care that the staff gave me and my fellow peers. I have Dyslexia and Castle Hills helped me over come my condition. I m now finishing up my Senior year in college and doing a part time Marketing internship on the side. If it were not for my roots I would not be so fortunate, Castle Hills gave me a lot and the least I could do is write this brief review.

I attended Castle Hills First Baptist School from the time I was around 18 months old until my freshman year of high school. Although I would agree that the spiritual aspects of the school are enriching, the overall control of the student body is more than a little chaotic. With staff constantly changing from year to year and very inexperienced teachers, this school seems unstable to say the least. Many classes are taught by teachers that either do not seem to have a passion for teaching or simply do not have an extensive background in education. I would recommend CHS for it's elementary school program because it does to lay the solid Christian foundation desired from a private Christian school.

During our first year here, my daughter was in 1st grade and we have seen her grow into a confident, happy and excited to learn little girl. This was after a disappointing experience the previous year at a Catholic School where she attended Kindergarten. New to San Antonio coming from Dallas, I picked CHFBS because I knew that if my daughter first built a solid Christian foundation of principles then the right wisdom of knowledge would follow. I immediately felt she would get that in my interview with the Administrative staff who welcomed us with open arms knowing we were always going to have a watchful eyes on the school. The administrative staff is great because they are truly an example of what the school's vision is for the children.

Horrible school. If you graduate and can get into a decent college, you won't be able to follow the curriculum because the CHFBC curriculum hasn't prepared you for the real world of math or science, nor even history or social studies. You probably won't get into college anyways, because the curriuculum is so lacking. Doesn't anyone out there care that our students aren't even getting a BASIC education in anything at this school? No wonder we can't compete in the modern world, if math and social studies isn't being taught.

This was my daughter's first year at CHFBS. The small student to teacher ratio has given her the opportunity to have the positive attention that she needs. The school has a very loving and nurturing environment. I feel that my child is getting a strong biblical and educational foundation. Parent/Teacher communication has been excellent this year. Even in Kindergarten the students are exposed to so much! They have Spanish, computer classes, as well as music twice a week. She will be returning in the fall.

Our academic programs are still lacking, NHS has fallen through and has yet to recover. We are still lacking in a football team, baseball team, and our soccer team may soon disappear. High school parents rarely attend school functions or school prayer meetings. Fortunately, this is not the case with our elementary parents. Though these comments may seem grim, we must remember that things could quickly change for the best if our management improves.

However, for what you pay, that school offers the most band for your buck. The opportunities for parent involvement, without micromanaging, are plentiful and varied to suit many different interests. A great, nurturing environment for students but not somewhere I would keep a child who has high academic ambitions. There have been no national merit scholars, nor have any graduates ever gone on to attend an ivy league school.
