Frank Tejeda Middle School

I have 2 daughters at this school, a 7th & 8 th grader and it is nothing short of FABULOUS!!! They have a very challenging GT program, and ample sports , clubs , and extra curricular activities for your children to join. The teachers are very active in the overall 'middle school experience' for all the kids as these are difficult years socially. My girls have adjusted well and I attribute this to the wonderful teachers at Tejeda Middle School. Go T-Wolves!!!

Tejeda has a very engaged and personable faculty! For a large school, I think those are difficult traits to cultivate. Good job! The students all seem to be enthusiastic, motivated, friendly, and really well behaved. Mrs. Fishman has a great orchestra program at Tejeda!

My child goes to Tejeda and I had one go onto h.s. from Tejeda. I have been extremely pleased with the teachers, past principal who went on to the h.s. this year and the AP's are outstanding people. For a large school it doesn't feel that big and my daughter loves band and the other activities she is in. We moved midyear when my son was in 8th grade as we are military and they were very supportive. I highly recommend this school although it is currently capped as so many people have moved into this area due to the outstanding schools. We feel fortunate to have been able to attend there. My younger daughter unfortunately won't have the chance as we will move her 5th grade year.. Sad about her not experiencing Tejeda.

My 6th grader is having a great year at Tejeda this year. Academics have been a 'good fit', lots of clubs to join, and a personable prinipal. He is well-liked by students and parents. The orchestra teacher has also been impressive.

Tejeda is the best middle in the world! The teachers and clubs are fun. The cafeteria could be organized better and the coaches need to control the profanity in gym more. But overall Tejeda Rocks! Go T-Wolfs!

I went here last year for 8th grade. My teachers were very nice and really helped me get ready for TAKS. I passed all of them. I like the school but sometimes the kids can be so cruel to each other based on who they hang out with and what they wear and if they are in athletics or not. And most of the kids text in class. My friend was being bullied but the counselor gave the bully no punishment and that made me very mad. Other than those few things the school can go above the standards of regular schools and the orchestra and choir do very well in regionals and in dallas.

My family and I recently moved to San Antonio through the military. My 8th grader did not know anyone at the school and was fearful, however the guidance counselors helped her transition go smoothly. They placed her in the nurses' office to assist children one on one which allowed her to meet students. Tejeda's administration was also very accomondating and loving when my daughter had difficulties in one of her classes. The staff is always loving toward the children and consequently many children return once they graduate to see the teachers and staff. The school does focus on TAKS test, but more importantly they care about the needs of the children and their families. We love Tejeda and I have another child attending next year. Go T-Wolves

I am an eight grader at Tejeda. The academics here are fantastic! We have great extra-curricular activities. Our athletic program is not good! I am also very disappointed with the way students treat each other. I know we can do better. Go T-Wolves!

Being a student in the 7th grade at middle school is amazing. All of my teachers are wonderful and help me with my weaknesses as well as aiding me with new interests.

I am a parent of a student currently attending Tejeda. I am a bit disappointed with teacher inaccessibility. Unless your student is having moderate difficulties or disrupting their classes, the teachers are not timely about answering your concerns, either by email or phone. There is no standard following of approved text books or TEA guidelines; handouts are used mostly to educate the kids. There is little follow up on the handouts in the class. Focus of education is strictly on TAKS material. I find that the discipline this year for mild infractions, severe at times. If I had money and time, I would move to a smaller school district or homeschool.

Im an 8th grader at tejeda & this school is the best. Ive had so much fun and also my grades have improved since i came. The teachers are a great help and the students are so nice. I am in sports and the coaches are the best they lead you through everything and help you out. Tejeda is the best school ever!

I am a student that is attending Tejeda Middle school right now also, and I am in 8th grade. Thoughout all my years as a student here (since 6th grade) I have enjoyed every moment of it. The academics leadership is awesome and we have wonderful programs. To my opinion, as long as your child is in some sort of club of program, they will have a great time. I am recently in the Tejeda band. We have sooo much fun and our band director, Mr. Rosenberg makes it even more special. It's teachers like him that make the school what it is: Fantastic. Even though this is my last year at Tejeda, I will remember how each teacher I had made me the great student I am now. THIS SCHOOL IS THE BEST! (& if there were 10 stars I would give it to them).

My son has attended Tejeda since the 6th grade (now in 8th). The teachers are good; however, the principals the school has gone through since he has been a student have been very poor, especially the current one John Mehlbrech. The athletic program is not very good. All the other programs at Tejeda seem to be in good working order. The school is clean and a good portion of the teachers really care, the others... not so much.

I'm a student here so I can give you accurate results. The teachers are awesome and I really liked it. Band is a solid program and the gym classes are rigorous but good. I have almost no criticism and it would only be about my reading teacher. The drama teacher is also offering debate for the 06/07 school year. Personally, I don't like the organization of the cafeteria because the lines are always long. The UIL team was awesome this past year, taking Districts by more than 2x the second place team and 33rd in States. There is no after school band practice program and no late bus either. Young Historians really outdid themselves with an absolutely outstanding History Faire. There are also many sports programs like golf and tennis that are separated by grade and gender.

Excellent school, very clean and academically good. The new Principal, Ms White could use a little lesson in respect. She is very mean. (Kind of reminds you of the nuns from the old catholic school days)She is very disrespectful towards some kids and parents. (I went to meet with her about a school function and she told me she had no time to talk to me about such nonsense)

Tejeda is an excellent middle school. I had two daughters (one in 7th and one in 8th) that attended there until last month when we were relocated out of the state. The students are friendly, the teachers are truly caring and it is a fun learning environment for the kids. The activities offered for the students was very good and school spirit is very high. The kids take a tremendous pride in their school. We sure do miss Tejeda....keep up the good work!
