Tejeda is an excellent middle school. I had two daughters (one in 7th and one in 8th) that attended there until last month when we were relocated out of the state. The students are friendly, the teachers are truly caring and it is a fun learning environment for the kids. The activities offered for the students was very good and school spirit is very high. The kids take a tremendous pride in their school. We sure do miss Tejeda....keep up the good work!
My two daughters absolutely love this school. Mrs. Turnbo, the former principal, has a wonderful way with the kids. She knows how to relate to them in a way that they understand and respect. There seems to be a really good balance between academics and extracurricular activities. The orchestra program there is phenomenal..way to go Mrs. Williams! Thank you Tejeda for a wonderful middle school experience.
The PTA program is not very bright here at Tejeda. Jan Johnson and her two obnoxios twins are rude and very ilmannerd.
This is a wonderful middle school - the administration, faculty are tremendous - very pro kids and very strong on academics. The PTA is excellent and has a great group for involvement. Discipline is handled professionally and fairly - the environment is for safety and learning mixed with alot of fun!
As far as my child is concerned, Tejeda is a great school. However, he is one of the very bright children who is also vocal and, surprisingly, not afraid (to a point) to speak up to and stand up to those who bully and ridicule him. I'm afraid that, at some point, he will be physically injured by those he stands up to. I understand that bullying is a growing problem in U.S. schools, and I think it is one that needs to be addressed on a more serious level. (I know that there is another middle school in the area that has serious problems with bullying and harrassment.) I understand that there are organizations that can be started at schools to help fight the problem of bullying, and I would like to see one started at Tejeda. It is a problem that the administrators at Tejeda try to address and minimize (there is a no-tolerance policy), but they can only handle what they are made aware of and there is a limit to how many eyes can be at one place at one time to see what's happening. It is a growing problem (epidemic?!)that needs to be addressed nationwide--not only by the schools but by the parents of those who are bullied, as well as those who have a bully for a child.
