I am now going to the 8th grade and my first year at metzger wasn't very good i wasn't able to see my grades until the 5th week of the 6 week grading period, so i had to run around trying to get my grades together. My 7th grade year however was very different the teaches were able to help me with anything i needed when ever i needed it. i think the school's new principal was great and very supportive. I look forward to my next year at metzger. :)

My daughter attended this school for her 6th and 7th grade year. I really liked this school and I wish she could have stayed there, but due to military, we have to move. She was very upset about leaving. One thing I didn't like was that the teachers didn't update the online grades on the Judson ISD website, so I consantly had to e-mail the teachers to find out why my daughter had zeros when she said she turned in her homework. But overall, the teachers were good, and the counsolers were good. I had to go up to the school one time to get my daughters schedule right and the counsoler was so nice to help me out. He actually looked at her past test scores, and put her in all AP classes because of her scores. But I was very happy with this school.

I agree with the security issue. There are a few students selling drugs at the school and if my kids can see that, how come the administration doesn't. Also a few students gang members that don't respect the dress code. The communication issue I soved it by being a bit rough on my messages when they don't respond to me, and eventually they call. I don't have problems with the school because my kids hasn't been affected so far. There has been a big improvement. Big!!!

I think that the reason why they don't do well on the TAKS test is since they have the best curriculum but the lowest TAKS scores. This is because the teachers teach the subjects, not the test. Also the only time the students don't have much homework is when they take normal classes. If you want your child to have more homework, put them in pre-AP classes. But sometimes students aren't able to handle all the work, so that is why teachers don't give out so much homework. The only problem that I have with the school is dress code. Your taking a way time where they could be learning wonderful things just because they aren't wearing a collared shirt. That is plain uncalled for to me.

This is a poor school with poor communication with parents. My childs ARD plan is not being followed and I cannot get anybody to return my call or much less, set up a parent/teacher conference! The Superintendents ofc won't pass my msg to him, because I am supposed to go through the principal with my complaint first, but how? If they don't return calls! It's time for the news people to get involved...

The new principal at this school is a very well qualified person who sincerely cares about the kids. The kids seem to respect him because he expects a lot from them. Great leader!

The principal is doing a great job of taking charge. I have never had better communication from a school with any of my children's schools

The students that attend this school hardly ever receive home work then they are wondering why the students do poorly on the taks test.

I had an issue the first year my daughter was at Metzger. There were promisses made about discipline and zero tolerence that were never carried out. My daughter is now entering the 8th grade and I have seen a huge improvement with her attitude and self confidence. I have to say that being in the athletic program has made a differnce. The teachers and administration have stepped it up. Lets face it school is not like it use to be. We as parents get upset when staff members try and discipline our kids and then we get upset when they don't. Parents need to take some responsibility in the lack of discipline at Metzger and start doing our part to correct the situation instead of putting all the blame on the school

Metzger Middle Shcool has enough classes to keep all the students safe, secure, and protected, and I have no complaints
