I have 2 sons that attended Bowie for the 2005-2006 school year. I found that the school layout is very open & welcoming for the kids. The Front office has not met my expectations for information when I call in. The drop off and staff parking is very unorginzied. The staff memebers take up all the front parking while visitors have no choice to park in back and walk through the school before signining in at the front desk. The carpool line is routed through the parking lot. Not a great plan. I do like the 6 Flags over Bowie and the focus the teachers have on my children. My son's teacher helped him excel in everything he was intrested and did well in. The school offered Hand Held Pilots for homework and technology experience. That went well for my 3rd grader!

I have a daughter that is now in middle school and one that is still at Bowie. The school is brand new and beautiful. The teachers are wonderful and work hard at helping my children excel. Bowie is an awesome school.

The best experience within this school district. I've raised one all the way through and I have two special needs children currently in middle school. The staff at bowie was exceptional in the years we attended there. Very helpful, always easy to work with and genuinly cared for me and mine. Always ready to find alternative resources or methods to help my younger children to succeed. Very loving and supportive environment. Since leaving bowie I have encountered increased difficulties on other campuses. I will always have fond memories of our time with bowie. I used to think smcisd was a great district when we attended bowie. I no longer feel that way. Bowie and the staff however will always remain in my heart.

Our son attends second grade at Bowie Elementary School. His second grade teacher, Mrs. Tipps is simply wonderful! They tell us that our son's doing really well and that he's a great artist! I also thought that their idea of taking all the kids on a field trip to Austin to see 'The Nutcracker' last christmas was a great idea. Our son had a great time! This is a great school and San Marcos is such a good place to live!

I visited my daughter's school campus a few times and i have feel that the children need to be taught manners and respect for outside visitors. It's not only the parents obligation, but also the teacher's. Because it's an embarrassment to your school when outsiders come to visit. The children are not listening and cooperating with the teachers or their aides.

Bowie Elementary school is very old. I attended this school 10 years ago and thought it was old then. Now I take my son to school and it looks worse than before. This school needs updated, bigger classrooms, a good cleaning and more parking. I think they may also have a mold problem and leaks when it rains.

Excellent school. Kids get personal attention, lots of encouragement. Teachers are generally competant and committed to helping their students achieve their best.Test-score differences among San Marcos elementary schools are not significant. There are differences in spirit.
