As a community member I feel that San Perlita teachers have more responsibilities than teachers in other schools. That is why they leave to go to other schools. It is such a small community that everyone is related and family alliances carry over into the school climate. School board members exert undo influence over the administration and day to day activities in the school. They are involved in decisions, from the dress code for students and for teachers, to individual student dicipline with favoritism towards member's family members.

As a parent, I am very concerned with the high turnover rate among the high school teachers. We've had some really good teachers who care about the students, however, for some reason they are leaving our district. I am concerned that the administration is not doing enough to keep them and this ultimately affects our children's education.
