Chisholm Trail Elementary is a small K-2 campus with an enrollment near 400 students. We continue to grow each year. Our school has great spirit. We have an amazing PTO with very dedicated and creative parents. Our students are creative, excited about learning, and respectful. We incorporate technology into our lessons and encourage students to explore ideas and seek information through these resources. We have innovative teachers, incredible parents, and supportive administrators. It is a great place to be. Our school has some room for improvement. It is an aging campus that was originally built for older students and it is exposed to the harsh elements of Texas weather. Our playground is in great need of new play equipment. It could also be improved by being updated so it is more accessible by our students with physical limitations. Some changes have been made to make it better but some of our equipment has become brittle in the Texas heat and cold, is too big for our age of students, and is used heavily by the community. It would benefit our students, as well as all children that use it year round. This money would benefit us greatly.

Chisolm Trail is an exceptional school. The teachers and staff members truely care about the children. My son moves up to intermediate school next year, we will truely miss Chisolm Trail.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

The test results by subgroup show how the designated group of students is performing in comparison to the general population.
  • In 2010-2011, this school was rated "Exemplary".
  • In 2009-2010, this school was rated "Exemplary".
  • In 2008-2009, this school was rated "Recognized".

About the tests

Texas uses Accountability Ratings to indicate the overall performance of each school and district. The ratings are based on TAKS test results, dropout rates for grades 7 and 8 and school completion rates for grades 9 through 12. Schools and districts rated under standard accountability procedures are designated as Exemplary, Recognized, Academically Acceptable or Academically Unacceptable. Schools and districts rated under alternative education accountability (AEA) procedures are designated as either AEA: Academically Acceptable or AEA: Academically Unacceptable.
