This school has been really great for the 3 years i attened it. The teachers really do help the students when the needed. The Jr. High was really great. They decided to have TAKS tutorials after school which really helped the 8th graders which are now the Freshman out alot, thus Scurry-Rosser became a reconized school district
Not many students like the school they actually go to, but I am proud to say I'm not one of those students. I love Scurry-Rosser, the teachers are great, the principle is the best, and my fellow classmates are overall good people. Scurry-Rosser is a school where you can have close friends in every grade level without the feeling of superiority regarding age or social class. The environment is neutral and great for learning and becoming both a stronger person socially and mentally. For a small school it is fundementally sound, in my opinion, and teaches the skills we need for entering the 'real world' such as leadership. Overall, a very good school.
Middle School still has the boys will be boys attitude, there is no punishment for bulling and it is the teachers and administration that do not step up and say this is going to stop. Has always been this way I do not see a change. Teachers do not let you know there is a problem until the child is failing then they don't call you they have the principle call you. Then when the child is in trouble you do not get a call until they have been in more trouble and then they threaten alternative school, for your child not the children bulling them or spitting in there faces. I would suggest this school do a complete overhaul.
