As an involved grandparent raising a 7th grade girl, I have to say we moved from Sealy because the school is a low performer. The female students were unfriendly and rude to me and my child; there were minimal school activities beyond athletics; many of the teachers were highly influenced by favorite students. A few of the teachers were wonderful and we thank them deeply for their work, especially Mrs.V Chitty, Mrs.P Barrett, and Mrs. Leslie Anderson. Asst principal Ms Weatherspoon is great.

I've spent some time in various classrooms at this school. There are definitely some top notch teachers in this school, and some mediocre ones as well. Overall, teachers seems both competent and caring in their approach to teaching their subjects; they also seemed a bit burned out. That's probably true of teachers in any school though. According to some of the teachers I met, they have an average rate of parental involement for a school of its size. A lot of parents who work are not as available to be involved at the school as they would like to be.

The academics were great at this school. My child had great grades. The have the normal extracuricular activities. He was in volved in football, crosscountry and track. I grew up at Sealy ISD and I loved it. I am sure your child will also love it.
