Since the new principal has came along, this school has gotten bad. The use of high school punishment on an elementry student is very wrong. My child doesn't want to go to school anymore because of this. Things need to change!
I live in a big city where there are alot of choices, we choose to drive to Navarro over any choice we have. It is a fabulous enviroment for our child, the staff , the teachers, the aids are great people who really care about the children.
My children are happy at the school. The teachers call me when there is truble with my children. They send home work on Friday.
Excellent school. Friendly and helpful staff and happy students. Glad my grandchildren are attending and happy.
Outstanding. From the first day we me the principal and teachers, we were made to feel like family. The principal is fair, does what is right for children and motivates teachers. Teachers care about the whole child, not just academics. The expectations are high, and there is no grade inflation, as has been in our previous school. Our children have to work hard for their grades, but are motivated by the staff to do just that. They teach responsibility, morality, and self-service. We'll never leave!
Having compared several schools in several school districts, I can say without a doubt the quality of academic programs, arts, extracurricular activiites, and parent involvement exceed the norm. As a parent I have been extremely pleased with the education my son has received so far through Navarro Elementary.
Our three children were new to this district in 2002. After being students in 3 other districts in the area, we are able to make a knowledgable attestment to the fact that NISD schools are exceptional. The teachers and staff are caring, well educated and have the child's best interest at heart. We have felt welcomed from our children's first day of school. The children are extremely happy and love their schools. Parental involvement is very high. The district does have high academic standards set for our children, which is why our district excels in educational scoring that is above average across the board. The children are nutured and loved while getting the education all children should be priveleged to. We are very proud of our schools and the great education our children are receiving. We will do anything we can to prevent ever moving from this district.
My children were new to this school and we found the majority of the teachers to be uncaring and too strict. Recess times are weekly not daily and the principal seems to take a defensive position when confronted with a situation. Kids are stressed about the unbearable loss of just being a kid.
