This is a fantastic school. I don't think there could be a better principal out there! The school has such a warm feel with amazing teachers. The academics are outstanding!

This is one amazing school! My daughter just finished the 2nd grade and loves every moment there. We moved to Southlake 5 years ago, with full intention of having our kids attend Southlake schools. The principal at this school knows every kid -- their name, how they do, etc. The teachers are phenomenal, and the atmosphere is energetic and positive. My daughter is flourishing here. You cannot go wrong with this school, or this entire ISD. It's worth every penny, and more!

This is by far the best school my kids could be involved in. The staff and teachers are all eager to educate and do so with a loving touch and level of professionalism that is unmatched. The pricipal knows the name of EVERY student and every parent. It is wonderful.

My son has had an excellent education at Rockenbaugh. He has performed quite well on national math competions against his peers. The principal and her staff are outstanding.

We moved into the district last year. I have to say I love Rockenbaugh! My daughter's second grade teacher was superb. The administration is wonderful. I volunteered often and always felt welcome. Karen White is an amazing Principal. I remember one day I was filing some books for my daughter's teacher in the hallway. Mrs. White approached me and told me how much she enjoyed my daughters report on the Seal (my daughter had a presentation in Quest earlier that day). She explained the points she found especially fascinating. Also, the art, music, and science classes are all taught by top-notch passionate teachers. You can tell they love what they do!

My child attended Rockenbaugh for 5 years and loved it. It is warm, nurturing and very loving. The only concern that I have about the school is that the Vice Principal does not know how to deal with parents or difficult situations. She approaches parents and students with military style. The principal is wonderful! Overall, we loved Rockengbaugh and the teachers and would highly recommend it.

Parent involvement is exceptonal. The principal and vice-principal are first rate and hands on. Reading/Math/Writing are focused on starting in Kindergarten and you will find that if you have a concern, if will be addressed. I'm am extremely pleased and will be very sad if we ever need to move. I even sub there being a teacher myself.

I compared Rockenbaugh's 2007 commended rates (Reading/Math/Writing) to all four elementary schools in the Highland Park ISD and was surprised to see they were higher. I doubt there is a elementary school in the entire State that scores higher.

You will not find a better elementary school in the area! The teachers are passionate about their job and the children they serve. The writing program is first rate. TAKS scores are phenomenal. I've been extremely pleased with access to teachers and principal.

I wish parents could be involved in classrooms i.e. Centers. The homework & classwork amount and quality are not near my child's last school which was in another state. Teachers need more up-to-date training. Grade team teachers need to send emails keeping parents informed regarding material covered and what to expect the next month.Dollar amount spent per student is low. How about ordering Houghton Mifflin? How about mass email to parents from principal concerning Rockenbaugh so we don't have to sift through CISD sight. Hope someone listens!

Great positive atmosphere. Wonderful programs within school.

New principal is committed to improving her teachers' stills. Way too much emphasis on TAKS test. Need more differentiation. Cater to the very bright, fast paced learner. Not much room for the average student. Highly competitive. Beautiful building and grounds. Poor science program.

Really impressed with the school's academic focus. Children are getting challenged.

RES has a tight-knit group of teachers and administrators that make it feel like a private school. Curriculum is also tightly intertwined so students are always prepared for the next grade level. Even from kindergarten, kids are doing story maps that will eventually help them with the 4th grade writing TEKS. Parent involvement is incredible - with volunteer duties elaborately orchestrated and scheduled to the point some newcomers can feel intimidated. Recent budget cuts forced all Carroll elementery schools to cut music and art to one semester per year and Spanish is gone altogether. We can only hope that eventually these programs are brought back, but until then after-school opportunities are available for a fee.

Many kids fall through the cracks here if they are not economically & academically gifted. Very poor dyslexia program, lax attitude about bullies, terrible access to principal, and very poor music/science/arts programs. They drill the TAKS test & score performance is the total focus, with little room for those who fall outside the lines. Very disappointed in this school! Not worth the taxes.

Love this school. Very high standards. Many resources to help children. Loving and supportive environment. Principal available to assist with problems. Homework is a bit much. I feel my children with be at the top of their classes if we ever have to relocate to another school district.
