Mrs. Nilo, as well as a number of faculty and staff, have played an integral role in my educational and physical development over the years and I am truly pleased to say that I am a graduate of Spell-Well Montessori School! Spell-Well has grown into an exceptional institution and I am thrilled to see that it continues to thrive and expand with the help of caring and loving educators and management. I recommend this school with no reservations! Best regards, Laurie Gardiner
I can't say enough great things about this school! Each one of my three children have attended this school and they absolutely LOVED it! Nilo and the rest of the staff are wonderful, and the facilities are excellent. Before Spell Well, my first daughter used to give me such a hard time about attending a previous school, but she really took to Spell Well, as did my other kids.
My son has been attending Spell Well since January 2010 at the age of 2. He started out over in the Toddler Program and has since progressed forward. I was a full time college student going to school for my Teaching Degree out in Huntsville but chose this school because I loved the Director Mrs. Nilo and Mrs. Brooke and the curriculum is wonderful. As a education major in college I am familiar with Montessori and this school is one of the best. Since my son has been at the school they have upgraded the facilities and even added a wonderful nature trail that spans the entire campus. The after school activities are also great and my son participates in two of them.
I love Mrs. Nilo she is very caring and truly loves the kids. The only thing I would say is that I wish the Toddler Room 18-24 months was nicer and larger. It feels as if the kids are stuck in a small dark room. I would like the Toddler building to be re-done, the new building is outstanding and I just wish the other 2 buildings were up to those same standards. I also sometimes worry that there aren't enough teachers to students.
I am blown away by this school. Nilo is one of the nicest most accomadating people in TX. The teachers are superb. Brooke is a delight to deal with, even on sensitive subjects. Furthermore, the education my children have received is unbelievable. My 3 year old is already able to read 3 and 4 letter words and is sooo eager to learn; a compliment to the teachers. I highly suggest that you send your children here. They will have the best head start you could ever imagine.
My daughter is 20mths and has attended Spell Well since she was 2mths, she loves it!! The teachers there really care about the students and one of her first teachers still checks up on her and calls to check on her when she is ill. I couldn't ask for a better school
I would highly recommend Spell Well's pre-K and Kindergarten programs in the new building. We've been here over a year, and my kids love going to school every day. I found the curriculum to be interesting and stimulating for them, and they really like and respect the teachers. When asked, my kids would be excited to tell me what they learned that day. My 5-year old just missed the birthday cutoff for attending public kindergarten even though he was ready for kindergarten. This school is a great for those September birthday kids who are ready for kindergarten. On a different note, when we first started and one of my kids was in the transition program, the multiple buildings for the younger kids was somewhat of a hassle and it sometime took a while before someone could open the door of the toddler
I am a mother of four 19-5yrs. I am no stranger to needing good childcare. My youngest son has ADD and was asked to leave many expensive'best of the best' schools including a private well known Catholic school because of his 'lack of disipline.' Heartbroken Untill we found Ms Nelo and the teachers of Spell Well. They realized he followed a beat from a special drum and instructed ME on how to teach and redirect him into a wonderful 5yr old who is confident in an enviroment that allows him to learn. The one on one teaching and expensive manipulatives have given him the tools to enjoy learning. The activities they offer are numerous with a summer jam packed with learning. He loves Spanish. My son has come so far and it I owe it to Spell Well. Thank You God Bless you from the bottom of my heart .Thank you.
My daughter attended Spellwell for about 4 months. I have just transferred her to another school and she is much happier. My daughter is 2.5 years old. Spellwell seemed great when we started at the end of the school year, but then when summer came it just went downhill. Every morning, it was difficul to leave her. They seemed very unorganized, kids moving from one building to another, amongst other things. I felt like there was a HUGE lack of communication, her bottom would be red many days when I'd pick her up and have a dirty diaper causing her bottom to become more red, so I would change it once I got to the school. These are just a few things. Trust me, there are better schools out there!
Both of my kids go to Spell Well for almost two years. We couldn't be happier. They both have learned a LOT, in an environment that is based on respect and friendship. You won't hear a teacher yelling. When your child does wrong, the teacher takes time to explain and talk things through. Montessori is based on meaningful hands-on activities. It is amazing how professional the classrooms are organized and how independent the 3-5 year-olds are working. The kids take great pride in doing things themselves. The teachers and administration are very dedicated and friendly. Spell Well has given my kids more than a solid foundation to start life - by 'building knowledge with love' (their slogan' - but also by shaping their character and respect for others.
