The potential at this school is amazingly great; unfortunately, the owner and CEO have no idea how to navigate school administration. There has been a major exodus of outstanding teachers from this community, and the bleeding continues to occur. The school has no Upper School Head and just last week lost its Lower School Head, seriously jeopardizing any future IB authorization for the MYP and DP programmes. It is sad to see such poor administration from individuals who are ill-equipped to run an international school. Parents should heed the phrase "caveat emptor," let the buyer beware!

My child has been attending WPS for several years now. The school recently went through an ownership change. What started as full disclosure, a well outlined path for building construction/roll outs and routine updates on progress has deteriorated to silence and uncertainty. Case in point: 4 mos into the school year and the children have no playground. The brand new playground sits with colorful new play structures but is off limits due to construction problems and no ETA to completion. When the kids do go outside at all, it's to run around in a disheveled 'soccer field' that is currently not in use. Several of the long time teachers have quit, others are up in arms with frustration. The new school cafeteria is a joke. The children receive food delivered in a rented UHaul - I've seen it and there’s no refrigeration. We're paying for this food, snack program (crackers and cheese whiz – ever heard of an apple?), as well as tuition and our kids are getting a shoddy return on investment. Car line is a 90 minute wait. The school has taken in twice the number of students this year under the new owners, but hasn’t provided the infrastructure to match. Not happy.

I have been going to this school for a long time, and quite frankly i am tired of it. It's a great school for kids up to 6th or 7th grade but after that the lack in sports and overall people that go their bores you. At one point the school had 60-100 people in the whole high school. The teachers are great and always willing to help. I took geometry in 8th grade which compared to public school i should have been taking it in 10th. It is a good school academically and it really focuses the most on math and science. But i would not recommend it to kids over the grade of 8th grade.

The school seems only interested in money. There are 18 kids in each of the 1st grade classes and alot of the kids are bored due to the teacher not being able to challenge them. When you go to the administration they seem more interested in getting tuition on as many students as possible rather than the parent's concerns.

Profile Completeness

Want to improve this school's profile?

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.
