Though the school has faced many challenges with budget, I am pleased with the education that my child is receiving. The teachers care about the students.

I went to Dueitt Middle School and i believe its a really good school to go to... The may look like it falling apart... but its a old school, but that don't mean this is a bad school, if you think Dueitt Middle School a bad school you must not know very much about them, and what they can do... Go seat in your son or daughter class and see what they learning and then make a statment...

We moved and this is the school my son has to go to now he hates it!!!! People open your eyes and ears pay close attention to your kids. I have only been there once and it looks bad. This is a very poor quality school that looks like it's falling apart. We just bought a new house and this is where he gets to go it's ridiculous. No lockers, No homework yeah have your kids do work at home reading time is a must in our home.

This school is terrible. I consider myself a good parent, however the teachers lack teaching skills. Every little thing that goes wrong in the school I am called about. Granted I take great interest in my childrens education, but there comes a time when teachers have to be teachers and understand that kids will be kids. As the lady said before a few bad apples spoil the bunch but do not label every kid as the same.

I read these posts... People / Parents who claim this school is the problem should really understand it is more the families of a few children. The school does very well with the children who want to do well... That is most... As this school has a few bad apples I agree the school as a whole is great. My child went to Anderson and now to this school and she is doing very well. We also parent her and spend time with her to make sure she is doing well and pay attention to who she hangs out with and talk with and involved with. BEING INVOVED IN MY CHILDS LIFE AS A PARENT that is our job at home. We also work with her on studies and reading time....

If your'e giong to leave a comment, at least spell your words correctly please. I've had four children attend this school throughout the years and haven't had ANY problems with anything. The teachers have been supportive, all three principals over the years have been wonderful and the children have always been friendly and pleasant. My kids were all athletic and involved in many of the schools activities and LOVED their middle school years. Parental involvement is key to any child's success. If you want a book to take home and study with your child, simply go to the school and check it out. Parents need to quit blaming the school and need to get involved with it. It's amazing how much you can learn by doing so. Dueitt is a great school!

I have been at the school many differents times and I saw teachers and administratives personal taken care of the kids. I think that the new principal is actually making some good changes on the aptitud and philosophy of the school.

I think Dueitt Middle school is a great school. The parents are ver attentive to the childrens acedemic role. I get emails and phone calls if my child is doing not well in school. She is in the 7th grade and so far I have had no problems. The counselor works with you in trying to resolve any issues, if there are any.

I think that this school should be teaching the teir 3 and 4 students more. When there children go to try teir 4. They expect them to learn not....... But all this is to say teach these children more.

This is a poor quality school which is so poor that it can't even afford new bathroom stalls for the students which are falling apart as I speak! Most of the teachers don't care about the students and just teach to get paid, it pathetic how they don't try to help the student or see what happening. Half the teachers treat them like kids, which makes the kids be more rebellious than they really are! Yes there are many fights through out the school, and we do have 3 armed officers. The point is, don't come to this school if you have low expectations of your child education.

Duett seems to be sliding on the attention to individual students as far as helping them achieve their goals. The fact that there are no books to bring home to help the parents study with their children is a great hindrance. I have watched as the students have been getting more and more 'studying' only for the TAKS tests and not on the fundamentals of reading, writing and arithmetic that are needed to carry them through life.

My child has been in SISD from kindergarten to present (eighth grade). My child loves attending Dueitt. Dueitt has an excellent required and elective curriculum. I feel confident that my child is in a safe and secure learning environment. The math program should be stronger, when I spoke with the administration, I was told there is a plan in process to improve this area. I would recommend Dueitt to any parent.

4/2004-I feel this school sometimes forgets that these children are turning into young adults. For example: the principal does not believe that they are responsible enough to use lockers. They have lost their locker privileges and have little time to get to their classes. However, i have not seen nor heard of any drug problems. I do believe that teachers should be more involved as teachers. An example would be math counts....The school offered a test to see who would pass and move on to district and state. Nothing was ever scheduled to help these children practice the math skills that they needed to help this school to bring up it's name. Some of the comments belong to the parent who said not to move to this school district. The school overall is not bad, all schools have drug problems. You can't blame the school if your child says 'yes'.

If you are thinking of moving into this area with children, Don`t ! This school has gang and drug problems. I have a child that has attended this school for 2 years, it has been a nightmare, there are fights in the hallways, but the staff look the other way and refuse to get involved. The school also has 3-5 armed SISD Police on campus due to the drug and gang problems. You don't want your child in this school!
