When I first read up on the school , I thought I made a great choice now I'm not to sure, I mean if they don't give homework , so I as a parent reach out to my childs teacher through email, and ask about progress, let me know what you are doing and I can print down worksheeets etc. to my surprise my daughter is failing this class , but making A&B 's in the other teacher class, I feel like it you are not gonna send home our childern grades, homework a progress report or report card is not gonna do because before it reaches failing grades we should be made aware.
My son has been going to Salyers for 3 years. I am not that happy with their policy about the homework. What he has been getting from the school is only 10-15 spelling words per week and that's about it for the homework. I have been asking his teacher how come the kids don't have any homework. All the teachers I have asked all said it's school policy.
My son has been going to Salyers for 2 years,I think the school is wonderful. The teachers are really involved with the students and do a great job at keeping parents informed on how their child is doing in school this includes their conduct and academics. My son has ADHD, and I really was concerned that my child would have a label put on him and that he would be treated different, but this did not happen, the teachers understood what I was going through and even though my child had problems here and there, they always treated him fair and worked with me on making decisions that would benefit him in school. Mrs. Cook (1st)and Miss Lohman (K) are wonderful teachers.
My son was in Mrs. Bell's class this year. Yet another wonderful teacher! She kept me updated constantly on everything from behaviors to studies and never seemed hassled or annoyed by my inquiries. She truly cares about 'her kids' and was there for more than a paycheck! I am very happy with the education and lessons my son is learning at this school.
My son is in Mrs. Keen's kindergarten class. What a wonderful teacher. Although my son experienced many behavioral problems, Mrs. Keen made a point of going above and beyond to see him through. She maintained constant communication, letting me know exactly what techniques she was utilizing. I can't imagine any other teacher taking so much time from their schedule to ensure a child's success.
This is a marvelous school. They take an active and persistent interest in the children.
Academic program is great. However, the school is very diverse. For teachers to do well at reaching everyone there are so many lost through the cracks.
Excellent school!! Teachers and administrators work together to create a wonderful, nurturing, learning rich environment for each and every student in their care!
I really think this is a great school for our students to attend. The teachers here have a minimum of students in there classes, so that they can perform one on one with each student in order to make sure all students are helped out in their weeker points in education.
