Very disappointed with the school!! The very first month the school had a parent-teacher meet and I went their with my wife. All the kids were taken to a separate room where they had a baby-sitter and all the parents were made to sit a separate presentation area. It was an hour long event and after the event we were asked to pick our kids and disperse. So after the event we go to adjoining room to pick our son and our son was not there. We searched the entire school but could not find him. Then a parent told us that our son was all alone in the parking lot and crying. We were so shocked!!! How could our son, who was just three years old, was left unattended by the teachers and the baby-sitter that he managed to reach the parking lot??? Anything could have happened to him that day. We did raise this issue with the school administration but they had a very casual approach and said they will be more vigilant next time....the school principal did not even apologize to us.....

Amazing school. Both my sister and I attended here. Students are taught to think and comprehend, not just to memorize and repeat. Really unique and exceptional learning environment.

Our son has attended Riverbend Montessori since 2nd grade (he's now in 5th). We couldn t have wished for a more perfect learning environment for him. The only unfortunate thing about Riverbend is that their program ends at 6th grade! Each teacher he has had has an obvious love and commitment, not just to teaching, but for each of their students individually. We have watched teachers adapted effortlessly and quickly to each childs needs, emotional and academic. While parental involvement is encouraged and happily accepted, we have never been put in that uncomfortable "but you have to" position.

While I think my son learned a lot during the time he was there, I felt that the teacher was not very approachable, nor informative. I would have liked more information on whether my son ate his lunch or if he fell or bumped his head, but there was no avenue that the school created to get good information like that. The hot lunches weren't very healthy as there's very little variety and it's what you would call a menu set to what kids would likely eat as opposed to healthy stuff that we as parents would want them to eat. I would only rank this school as a good as opposed to an excellent.

Our daughter is finishing up Kindergarten this year at Riverbend and it is a wonderful school. She has been there about a year and a half and absolutely loves it. She has grown so much as both a student and a person at Riverbend. Prior to Riverbend she attended a different area Montessori school and it was very disappointing. At Riverbend, my wife and I were amazed at the difference. The owners and teachers at the school genuinely love what they do and have a passion for the children and for learning. I couldn't ask for a better learning environment for my daughter. I know that the education she is now receiving will be a building block for her for many years to come and I have to say that she is in the best of hands. Without hesitation I would recommend Riverbend Montessori. Take the time to visit the school. Ask to observe the classroom and meet with the administration. I can assure you that you will be able to see the level of deep caring that occurs at this school. Hands down, this is a great environment for learning -- both academic and for life skills. They do a wonderful job.

Riverbend has provided my daughter with excelent opportunities to learn. The best part of the school are its teachers. My daughter has gained self confidence in herself and her ideas. As a full time working parent, it is so convenient for me to be able to place my daughter in a school which provides morning and after school care. I would recommend this school to everyone. Here your child will be nurtured and taught at their own pace. The learning enviornment which is provided by Riverbend, allows its students to see the world with much enthusiasm and curiosity.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
