My daughter has attended SSMS for two years now, this will be her third then high school. I have had the worst experience with this school system. Most of the teachers will not help when a student specifically asks for help. I have four children and I have been at this school more than any of the other three combined. Alot of teachers have their favorite students and make it very obvious to the other students. If your child isn't one of the favorites, they suffer for it.

I would say the SSMS has an exceptional band, in 2005 they have one 10 awards, with just the 6-8 grade bands! They are also UIL District Champs for the 13th time this year. They have over 100 trophies in sports. The student council is magnificent! Teachers support their students, train them well for the TAKS, and treat them with respect. You won't find a school as great as this school anywhere in rural Texas!!

The faculty majority at this school are very supportive and kind. There are no strong 'cliques' or social pressures by the students. That said, the classes are sometimes overcrowded, and the buildings are in need of improvement at the Middle School AND the High School. Overall, a good school - Not great.
