This is my daughter's first year in Kindergarten. I am so excited and blessed to be a part of such an incredible school. Everything is exceptional from the challenging yet exciting education that is offered, the staff, even the building within. I love being able to be well informed with access to everything from computer based interaction with the teacher and classmates. I'm even able to view what my child is purchasing daily for meals just by logging into her account. Mrs. Metcalf is such an extraordinary and loving teacher. She focuses on the individual needs of her students while still propelling them forward as a whole. She keeps us informed and takes the time to even send photos and special moments directly to my e-mail. My daughter loves her and her school as do I. Though she's only in kindergarten I am convinced that there is no greater place around.
Challenging, fun, structured, hands-on, unique. The environment is outstanding & the staff is the best that Texarkana has to offer. We LOVE this school & we are grateful for the opportunity to be a part of it!!
My son loves going to school at Morriss Elementary. He is thriving in the challenging yet fun hands-on environment, and he comes home every day excited about going back. His teacher is observant, pro-active, and kind, and the rest of the staff he comes in contact with seem the same. Bottom line: he loves to learn here. This is a fantastic school.
This is such a unique place to learn! The engineering curriculum makes learning fun, while teaching valuable higher level thinking skills. The material is challenging and pushes these children to really think!
I am so impressed by the teachers at this school. They are genuinely happy to be there and it shows. The curriculum is challenging, but fun. What I like most is that the kids are able to enjoy many more hands on activities than in the traditional elementary schools. Even though its focus is on Math and Engineering, the Art, Music, and Spanish programs are also excellent. The school counselor offers group sessions to children who might need help with staying focused in class, study skills, test taking, etc. And I've never seen as much parent involvement than at Morriss Elementary. My children actually love coming to school now!!
I like the curriculum being used at Morris Elementary. My child is learning alot and soaking in the information. I'm glad I chose this school for my child.
The curriculum at this school really challenges the students; they have set a high standard for the children to achieve.
