We moved to this school from St. James Day School (a private school in Texarkana) and have been more than pleased! This is a public school with a private school feel. Teachers are very nurturing and caring. Academics have been outstanding! So glad to have made the switch!

Pleasant Grove may have excellent Taks scores and challenging academic programs but it also has a very serious bullying problem.. It is dangerous and the admin staff needs to take this serious..

First of all, excellent teachers work at Pleasant Grove Elementary School! The teachers take a special interest in each student they teach and help them achieve their full potential! I salute their teachers and appreciate them more than words can say! Secondly, this school has a wealth of parental support and lots of the parents (and even grandparents) volunteer their time to help at the school on a daily basis, as well as for special events! This in turn makes the school an even better place to send my kids!

My child started Kindergarten this year (2008-09), plus I am a former graduate. The acadmics are great and so are the quality of teachers. The only con I can say is that the administration (principal, asst princ & super) are not the most friendliest - they all walk around with a mad, unhappy look on their faces. Thank God the teachers are not that way!

Pleasant Grove Elementary has been a wonderful experience. We have moved to Texarkana and are so pleased with the staff, level of education, and the precautions Pleasant Grove takes to keep the students safe. I would suggest to any parent if all possible they should place their child in the Pleasant Grove school district.

We moved to the area and settled based on the reviews and recommendations for this school and have never been so dissatisfied. Our children started the school year with well above average rankings and will leave having not progressed at all and ranking average. There was no effort by the teacher (who were very nice to challengethem to their level and helping them to progress. They watched an unbelievable amount of television (including PG movies) and ate the most unhealty food possible food if they ever ate school lunch. Very unimpressed!

Excellent quality of education at this school. Students are challenged above state minimum requirements and are enriched with many different programs. The teaching staff is wonderful and caring and invested in the success of the school.
