Amazingly well run school. The teachers are excellent, they take great interest in the students. They do many projects throughout the year that challenges them from a creativity perspective too. Academically they are higher than kids I see from other schools.
I have 2 kids who are attending Morningside, and I have nothing but great things to say about this school. The teachers are excellent - always going above and beyond for their students - and are very dedicated and hard working. The leadership is also very commendable. Initially, I was a little hesitant, when my first child was about to start, but was pleasantly surprised after she completed her first year successfully and continued to grow from strength to strength academically. Now, my son has joined her, and he's had a very positive experience too. All in all, Morningside is a wonderful school as it provides a very nurturing environment for the kids.
For parents that work with their children at home and care about their education this school if for you. Perhaps at times they have too much homework. The teachers are exellent. There is no perfect school but this one is about as good as it gets for public school. Griffen Middle school, I am not looking forward too though.
I know many families who believe this is a wonderful school. However, my child's experience could not have been more different. The leadership, the curriculum, the teacher, the class size were all terrible.
My daughter is in 5th grade at Morningside, and she's been here since kindergarten. She loves this school so much, and she's very sad to leave it for middle school.
My son started attending Morningside Elementary this semester. My wife and I asked a lot of questions about the school, and were most interested in the school's learning environment, classroom size and management, and the teachers and the resources available to them and their students. Then, we were at the cusp of deciding whether to enroll our son in public school or continue him in a private school. We were concerned that he might look too big for kindergarten given that his birthday occurs just 2 months after the start of the school year and that he might be bored in kindergarten. Our meetings with the principal helped. We saw in the principal someone who is genuinely interested in the overall development and growth of the students and teachers. We are quite pleased with our decision to move our son to public school -- Morningside Elementary.
I like Morningside very much. The teachers have all been great and go above and beyond for the kids. The principal is nice and seems to always have the kids best interest at heart. She does run a tight ship but it is all to keep the kids safe in my opinion.
I really dislike Morningside. The principal is awful & so are the office staff. No one in the school is helpful and the communication is horrible. I really think they are more concerned about getting money from the parents and looking good to the community than about the children themselves. My son's teacher is great, but that is the only thing good that I have to say about this school. I am glad that he is being redistricted, but I am moving out of the Lewisville school district as soon as possible.
My children's teachers are competent, but the principal is a incompetent. The kids are marched around like soldiers in an atmosphere that resembles a concentration camp. Simply stated: OK school. Crazy leadership. But from what I hear, all schools are like this these days.
I think this is a wonderful school. My son use to go to Indian Creek Elem and I feel he has gained more knowledge, respect and self confidence from the principle, teachers and his peers. The principle is a very good person [and] she is always smiling. The teachers are helpful too. I am happy that my son and daughter are going to this school and they are too. My son has never complained about anything.
