B B Owen Elementary School

i loved this school i went here 3-4 grade and im in 11th grade now still proud to be a bob cat roper

My daughter is entering her last year at B.B.Owen and I have to say that our experience at B.B.Owen has been all positive. The staff is wonderful and P.T.A. is great . We will miss B.B.Owen. I would recommend this school to anybody.

BB Owen has undergone some changes in the last couple of years and, it's all for the BEST! The staff challenges the kids, the extracurricular programs are fantastic, Coach Cox never stops moving and the administrators support the children, parents, and teachers!

We will be moving out of this school's area as soon as possible. I tried to volunteer and do PTA but I didn't fit into the clique so I was shut out. I appreciate the value of the PE program, but I would like to see a arts, math, science, and other programs take priority over running around the building and line dancing.

There are teachers, faculty and staff at BB Owen who go beyond their job descriptions to help each child succeed and feel loved. The environment is one of family not institutiion.

This is my children's first year at BB Owen and we have been more than impressed with the school. The teachers are wonderful. The PTA is VERY active and well organized. The extracurricular activites are great and very innovative.

B.B. Owen has the best teachers, administrators & PTA. Coach Cox is the best coach - he is super involved, leading a jump rope club, running club and dance club - plus he sincerely loves our kids!

Many of the teachers are wonderful and absolutely go above and beyond for their students. The school administration is absolutely terrible, though. The principal is uninvolved and uncaring, the office staff is terrible, and my son has actually regressed in Kindergarten. The PTA is uneffective, cliqueish, and disorganized.

My children love BB Owen. Mrs. Fontes is an amazing principal who will go the extra mile to ensure your child is in the best environment possible. The teachers are definitely not here just for a paycheck and many volunteer their time to offer the children as many extracurricular opportunites as they are able. I would not change a thing. We are moving, and I am terrified that we will not find another public elementary school that can compare.

I wish the school would require or at least encourage science fair and/or invention convention. I was suprised this was not done. Also, although pleased with many things, the stronger students are not challenged enough with higher thinking skills development!

We love BB Owen. I don't believe you will find another elementary with as much involvement as this one. Mr. Cox is so involved in promoting kids health! The new principle has moved in and made some changes. You will now enjoy eating lunch with your children, it is quiet yet the kids are allowed to speak to one another. If I had it my way, my kids would be here indefinitely. We have been here for 4 years now. You will find parents involved and activities for your kids to participate in, honor choir, ropers club, jogging club,, UIL, etc. I am also pleased with the academic's of the school as well.

I have been involved with BB.Owen for 2 years as a parent. My experience at this school has not been pleasant. The ladies in the front office are very disorganized and rude. Questions that I have asked, don't get answered when it comes to my child. Needs much improvement!

I think BB Owen is a wonderful school. I like how the staff, especially the PE teacher, Mr Cox is so interactive with the kids. It makes me feel like they really care about the kids.

Smaller schools are beneficial for students for the most part. Usually class size stays the same-Administrators just don't have to hire more teachers. ratio 1-18 usually, which is great, but not exceptional over other schools. One benefit of smaller schools is they get through the lunch line and are able to finish their lunches and halls aren't as congested.

I have been involved at B.B.Owen for over 9 years as a parent and volunteer.I have seen the office staff go from cold to warm.(especially if they know you)Office looks a little disorganized and cluttered-first impressions are important!Academically it's the BEST school (shhh but we don't tell everyone) it might make the classes fill up faster.

I'm so glad my children had their first few school years at B.B. Owen. The teachers are so great! I agree with the other reviewer in that the women in the office lack warmth. Which is necessary seeing they are the first point of contact for parents.
